Hey everyone, I'm Jo and i've nearly finished my third day of none smoking. It's been really tough AND ive had the day off work which has been hell as i've just been struggling to find things to do with myself!! But i went for a glass of wine with some friends tonight and it was fine :-)!! really chuffed xx
third day is nearly over!: Hey everyone, I'm... - No Smoking Day
third day is nearly over!
Good job Jo!
Nearly onto Day 4 then. Its really doesn't have to be as hard as we make it sometimes. I learned this the hard way!
I find by not fighting the craves it creates less of a battle inside my head. Mind, I haven't had a crave for ages. I only get pangs every now 'n then (I'm on day 13 now).
You'll prob notice other posters with a quit counter like this:
I have been quit for 1 Week, 5 Days, 10 hours, 6 minutes and 33 seconds (12 days). I have saved £82.34 by not smoking 322 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 2 hours and 50 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 04/04/2008 13:00
If you want one too, they're @ dedicateddesigns.com
Well done and good luck (not that you need it)
Thanks for your words of encouragment! I was having them awful arguments with myself today! But all i keep thinking is I'm soooo gonna buy some shoes next week hehe!! This is my second time trying to quit, but i know i won't make the mistakes i did last time with the old " its only one cig"! We all know thats not true! I need to grieve cigarettes like I'd grieve a guy thats just broke my heart! I've got over men before that i loved....so can i can get over this! Nearly £6 a packet!! NO THANKS
Yep, who needs men! Whoops. I meant fags haha
Anyway, yes, it is an expensive habit. And we pay out all that money for what? To be controlled by a nasty smelly drug? Noooooo. No more.
If ever you find times becoming very hard for you, just come on here and moan moan moan! Gawd knows I've abused that privilege heheh
So tell me your story........what made you wana stop? you tried before?
Yeah...I've tried stopping before. I once stopped for over two years and then I did something very stupid and become hooked again.
I tried to stop smoking 6 weeks ago and lasted 3 and a half weeks (did alot of whinging and whining on here lol). I succumbed to the awful weed and went back to smoking for a week. Then, it was time to stop again! I read Allen Carr's Easyway book and I am a changed person I have nearly gone 2 weeks again and I am finding it incredibly easy. Too easy...I worry sometimes that something bad is lurking round the corner because NOTHING is this easy...esp not stopping smoking!
What about you? Have you had many quit attempts?
you do very good Joe. I am not smoke for 2 week. day3 is bad day. I stop many times this time is last time I know. this is your last time too. we are very good I hope .
Yep gone cold turkey OUCH! I know people that have read his book and stopped and never gone back! I will HAVE to buy one to keep me going. I have tried once before to stop, only last 2 weeks and went and had ONE cigarette thinking it wouldn't do me any harm. I'm just gona go for it. I find it easy, then hard again. I want this to stop and start being simple again! Im so tired too. I can't believe how tiring it is. Do you get that?
Thanks so much for all your support! and well done to you all too. Just so nice being able to talk to people who know what the hell im going on about!! I'm smiling for the first time in three days, Thanks See you tommorrow!!!!
