I'm a 2 pack a day smoker (Ultra Lights) and have been thinking about quitting for a few months now. For me, to be honest, it's more the inconvenience of smoking than anything. I'm tired of having to go to a smoking area so far away from my friends in the restaurant, of interrupting conversations to 'nip outside' and of me and all my belongings stinking of smoke.
I woke up this morning coughing and for some reason really inspired to just quit. I live in a house with 2 heavy smokers, though, and I know this will be difficult. I've got a plan:
1) I just ordered an electronic cigarette with LOTS of flavoured cartridges.
2) Just stay away from them for a few days - spend the time in my room/out of the house.
3) I've also got nicotine gum/juice/sugar (a friend of mine got heavy sugar cravings when she quit).
I hope I last! 3 hours so far.....

good luck with your quit ... being around other smokers when you are quitting can also be a good thing in the sense that once your smell returns you will be grossed out by the smell.
i was smoking 60 to 70 a day and if i can do this anyone can do this you just need to believe in yourself and get your head involved in your quit as well
if you want it you will do it and as others on here have said anything to not smoke
you can do this you are stronger than the nicodemon
cheers

Well done on choosing to quit. And by the sounds of things you are on the right track. just stick to this forum and anytime you need help or advice just post on here, and someone will help you though this.
Also lots of water and sweets do help. Also try to keep reminding yourself why you are quitting. All the best on your journey to being smoke free.
