Hi Rachi :)

The first few days are the toughest, so if you ride tis out it soon gets way better!!

You've made the right choice quitting, the symptoms are your body flushing out all the poisons from smoking and getting itself back to normal.

Are you going cold turkey or using NRT? :)

Keep going and there's always someone here to help when you need it!!

Rach

Welcome to the Forum. Well done getting past the first 3 days which IMO too are by far the worst!

Baby steps, and please try not to look too far ahead and you'll do just fine.

Hi :)

Glad you're feeling better today!! e-cigs are OK, but you have to be careful not to swap smoking for using that!!

Oh heck, I must have been a heavy smoker too then  never thought about it like that.

Agreed! :) I wasn't what I'd class as a heavy smoker (8-10 a day, a few more on a Friday night), but I have found this really difficult at times. I think it depends more on your positive attitute and you, Gemme, certainly have it!

Welcome to the forum Rachi. I have an e-cig and use it a maximum of a couple of times a week. They don't really taste like the real thing but do help to fight off the negative feeling you start to get when you think you want to smoke. Do whatever you need to, like Max says, but just try to moderate it and not swap from one addiction to the other!

:D

That's definitely "light" whatever difference it makes!!

And woohoo!!

I've got one too, and am trying to get off it - it's working too but it *is* taking longer than I'd like.

There really are negatives and positives to them.

Whatever the company says, it doesn't taste or even feel like smoking. The e-cig is heavier, the "smoke" tastes funny and there's a lot more of it. Think that's a good thing, 'cos it stops you feeling smoker-ish if that makes sense?

It has definitely saved my quit - and a lot of other people on here. Got close to caving, but bought that instead and so that's fab!!

You can buy weaker ones as well or even nicotine free.

On the other hand, it's addictive (obviously) and because unlike a fag it doesn't burn out, you can use it like a dummy.

But basically, anything that keeps you from smoking *has* to be a good thing.

haha yeah I think 20 plus a day is heavy

AAAARGH  I was around 20-25 a day, more on a night out, less on a good day.

That is fab to hear, with that attitude, you will definitely beat this!!

They will both clear, it's odd how it affects us (was acting high myself) but it doesn't last long.
