Hello All,

Been reading posts for a week now. Been a smoker for 40 years - now on day 8 - cold turkey. Seem to have got to grips with physical bit - although pounds piling on! - but finding pyschological bit a struggle. Feel as if I have lost an old friend - who keeps whispering - let me back in. And I want to - help!!

Don't let it in!

Try anything you have to, to keep from giving in.

Saturday evening was a really difficult one and I was advised to make my way through a few lollipops, then smoke on the sticks if I had to.

Anything, just to keep away from the real thing. And it worked!

I thought I was going to go bonkers, but managed to get through it alive!

Eating, exercising, talking, listening to music, writing a letter to yourself about why you've stopped. You may find some of these useful.

I find coming onto the forum and typing all my feelings out a god send

Thank you all for tips and comments. Hanging in there - been smoking so long don't know what to do without it!
