Well i feel guilty saying ive made it to day 3 as i have been allowing myself a cig in the morning and at night so I have went from 20 a day down to 2 maximum! Had a very crabbit husband last night (he is also quitting) were now not speaking and its made me reaaaaaaaly want a fag cos im stressed. The anxiety is really bad
Day 3 struggling big time :-(: Well i feel... - No Smoking Day
Day 3 struggling big time :-(
Suzy - it must be really horrible feeling as you do at the moment.
The only thing I can say is stick with it - in as soon as one weeks time you and your husband will be laughing over how silly it was to get stressed and fall out - all because of giving up stupid old fags!!!
Stick with it Suzy - it will be worth the short term frazzled tempers
xx
Thank you
As they say they say after the 3rd day its meant to get easier so ehres hoping x
Hi Suzy,
To be honest I thonk you'd be far better off stopping smoking and using NRT than still being a smoker even if it is just 2 a day!!
There's much less chance of relapsing and you're not breathing in all those chemicals!!
It is very hard, but it's worth the effort to not smoke!!
Suzy...STICK WITH IT! going from 20 to 2 is a great achievement.....your getting there and have started the best journey.
Even when all seems stressful, make every effort to not light up....its not worth it. It won't suddenly change any circumstances whatsoever....other then feeling bad about yourself.......so keep going.
Ive done a week now, and NEVER thought I would actually do it....but we can. xx
Thanks so much for the support guys.
As hard as it is I know it will be worth it in the end xx
Thanks folks, Yeah I am looking forward to bed time just so I can have one. Your right its just teasing myself.
Thank u so much all I already feel better.
Im using patches and have had a few bits of gum when the cravings get really bad at work xxx

Believe me Suzy, you feel so much better when you don't have any
You're going to think I'm talking rubbish - I would have - but it's so true!!
You've made a huge step in the right direction it's just another little one you need now
I'm the Queen of No Willpower, and if I can do it anyone can!!
Everyone's different, but for me patches worked really well (but I had to take them off at night 'cos I wasn't sleeping and had nightmares and you don't need them 24 hours anyway) and like you having pieces of gum when I got a crave. Am just on gum now so it really is working!!
Oh, one thing that really helped me 'cos I missed the action of smoking and might help you (even though it sounds really odd) was to roll up a post it note and pretend to smoke that - it really calmed me down somehow
Good luck!!
Thanks Gemma xxx
I don't think its going to get better for you after three days if you don't stop completely. You will never get over the withdrawals - it would be unbearable forever.
It takes three days for the nicotine to leave your body, and it won't leave if you keep topping up during that time.
It will be much easier in the long run if you stop completely. I'm on day 16 and don't really think about it anymore - the first three days were awful - constant cravings, but it does get better - quite quickly too.
Every time you crave think to yourself "this is good, I never have to smoke again"
I was crabbit during the first week, and a little bit into the second - it's normal. but better to be peeved with each other for 10 days, than constantly craving - just think, after two weeks you could splash out on a make-up meal together and you'll enjoy it as the bad moods will have lifted and you will be riding high on the crest of your quits.
Good luck
I agree the cravings seemed to peak on day 3.Stick with it and im sure you,ll get there........
Well done Suzy for making the decision and having a good go so far; unfortunately I can't see a way you'll shake them off by still having two a day.
The harsh reality is that you've cut down drastically but are still smoking and until you bin the last couple, you'll never get the nicotine out of your system, as has already been pointed out. Also you admitted yourself, you're still looking forward to the evening one.
You have shown plenty enough strength so far, so go the last hurdle and quit the little sh*ts altogether. You have the NRT already so are well equipped; stick with this forum and you'll get there...
