Really struggling with day 3

Hi guys, as you can tell I'm new here!

I've tried quitting several times before without much luck. the time I did best with was cold turkey (quit for a month than had a stressful time). I found that while my withdrawal symptoms are lessened with NRT, I found myself craving a *lot* more, and eventually giving in. I've tried patches.. inhalers.. you name it.

So I've decided to go cold turkey again. Managed to get to day 3 for the first time since last time I went cold tukery.

The problem? My withdrawal symptoms. All day today I've been exhausted, as it's gone on I've been almost passing out and feeling very nauseous.. and just now I actually was sick. While I don't want a cig to have a cig.. I want a cig to get rid of these horrible side effects. But I'm trying not to cave.. hopefully I'll be on 4-7 tomorrow.

Last cig was one Monday morning- I always found day one easier by starting with one!

Ahhh you can do it hun. Once day 3 is over the nicotine is all out and the withdrawals will ease I've read on here. The thing you have to think of is if you have a cig to ease it, you will only have to go through it again. Xx

Thanks for your support :-)

I'm hoping so.. I'm just a bit worried that as I had a cig on the Monday morning instead of the Sunday night that it'll still be here tomorrow! I honesty don't know how much more of it I can do, although I do know that if I smoke again now.. yes I'll have to start all over again- another thing that's preventing me from walking to the shop and buying cigs!

EDIT: I just noticed it's no smoking day as well.. best not smoke then! :-)

well done for reaching day three...........

don't give in to them.....

you can do it.. if you have one, you will have two, and so on, it will get better, you have gone cold turkey, i couldn't this time.. i did that years ago, but then started again,~~~~~~~thought i could just have one but hey it started me off again.

on patches this time and i am on day 15 now, so chuffed with myself,:)

Good luck, xxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Jayb!

Aye, "just one" doesn't work for me- in particular if I buy them.. then I'm screwed. Just 1 = whole packet of 10 gone in a couple of hours.

Well I'm only 2 hours away from when day 3 is over- because it has to be! I live out in the sticks and our village shop closes at 10.. and as I don't drive.. can't get any even if I wanted to after that time.. so I have 2 more hours to go!

Take one day at a time, with every day that passe's i feel so proud of myself,

You can do it, think of all the reasons why you want to quit, and don't let that ciggy rule you..........you rule it.. i know it takes a hell of a lot of willpower, but it will get easier, i smell nice now no stale smoke, washed all my clothes, even though oh smokes, i am copeing well,

GOOD LUCK, u can do it xxxxx:) And very well done on reaching day three,

Well, as it's 10pm now, and there's no way I can buy cigs.. that's day 3 over (unless you count the two hours from 7-9 when shop opens, and as my last cig was at around 9am on Monday, that's ''official'' day 3 over but meh!)

I doubt I'll be up before 9am in the morning.. as hopefully I may actually sleep well tonight unlike night 1 and 2! So as far as I'm concerned, see you in 4-7 :-)

I'm still feeling very un well, let's hope this has passed a bit tomorrow!

stay calm and in focus

Lythia,

Just keep counting days and keep yourself busy. Think of few years down the line and the feeling of how it will be when you dont smoke... I am sure, we will make it. All the best.
