Hi everyone, im on day 3 of no smoking but ive started to struggle more yesterday and today, do the cravings get worse before they get better?
Day 3 and starting to struggle: Hi everyone... - No Smoking Day
Day 3 and starting to struggle
sHORT ANSWER IS EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.
THEY NDO SAY IT TAKES AROUND 3 DAYS FOR THE NICOTINE TO LEAVE YOUR BODY, SO MOST PEOPLE DO HAVE AN INITIAL ROUGH RIDE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN TYHINGS CALM DOWN.
Just realized i've got 'caps lock on!...Sorry! Post-smoking madness, probably...
Umm, where was i .
Oh yeah...make sure you have some strategies to hand when it gets crazy. Do what it taKES. WALK, DRINK WATER, SING,..damn, caps lock again!
I'm going to dtop!
Keep on. It won't be too long 'til it calms down..

As Bill says everyone is different but it does seem a universal truth that there are bad days and good ones and as time goes on the bad days get fewer and good days more plentiful!
Hang on in there you are doing brilliantly!
After 73 hours your body is nicotine free, and this tends to be when the cravings are at thier peak.
As said, everyone is different, but the average quitter will start to notice the intensity and the frequency of cravings start to lessen after 3 days.
I found that the best way for me to get past cravings was not to try and ignore them or to try and distract myself from them.... I found the best way was to embrace them. I wrote down how I was feeling and why I was not going to give in. It genuinely helped them to pass.
And remember, a craving will pass even if you do nothing, without smoking. Always. So, whats the point in smoking?
Hang in there, it will get easier.
Hiya
I found day 3 the hardest - FYI its the day I came looking for a forum to join for support and distraction.
If it helps, on day 11 now, and theyre much much better! I honestly don't think I have any nail biting hard craves anymore.
So they do get better!!
Stick with it.
Hi General!
Ahhh Day 3 - excellent work so far ....Alot of people have placed day 3 as the worse day of their quit. I think this is as you know because all the Nicotine has now left your body.
Your body has managed to clear out all that nasty guff you have forced into it, Drink water to help flush out the system it also helps with the smoking urge.
Today is a day you just have to see through im afraid. I felt my quit was fairly easy until day 5 ....this was my worst day but for many others its day 3!
Do all the things you need to to avoid smoking! whateva has worked for you the past two days .
Like Billg says ...do any of those things to occupy yourself. personaly i ate a tangerine wheneva i felt like a smoke...this was just what worked for me. You have to find what works for you and use it !
The cravings intensity will lessen as will how frequently they occur but meantime you need to do something when that fidgety feeling comes.
So far you have done brilliant...keep up the great work...and post often
Thanks everyone for your support, hope the cravings will be less tomorrow.
Keep going!! ... I am on day 3 too ... I certainly have the cravings (despite the acupunture) ... there are lots of situtations where I would have lit up in the past. I am just trying to focus on the good things. I'll be back tomorrow!
Have a good evening everybody!!!
