Luv your title. It's quite apt in this situation - been off 5 days and I can smell a smoker from 100 yards. :p

who said this would get easier? at the moment it seems worse than day 1.

I keep taking deep breaths and don't know why. Still don't seem to have any extra puff. Don't think I am ready for brisk walks, would end up puffed out on floor.

I had to go in to the chemist to get more patches only to find that the packaging had changed since I brought last box which was last year, made me very confused but got right ones in end.

I keep getting a niggling head ache and heart burn.

think sense of smell returning

It will get easier WTSN. Don't let other people's processes dictate what you think should be happening/not happening to you. It's your quit that is important, and it will unfold in its own unique way. You are doing well.

My 5th day as well! :D

few more cravings today so e-cig had to come to the rescue, i also rubbed my patch & reminded myself how well i was doing.

Would be more proud if i was doing this cold turkey but i'm sure cutting down the patches wont be too difficult as i will only do it when i feel i'm ready. The e-cig i want to swap for plain vapour one as to be honest i dont much like it (not a bad thing though as discourages use)

Still remaining positive in my acheivement so far.

P.S. I suffer from poor circulation which results in chilblains this time of year, this week they have been so bad, affecting all my toes & the only thing that calms them is sticking them in a bowl of cold water....is this the effects of circulation changes in my feet in the last 5 days or coincidence?

Good luck everyone

Trudy :)

Why?

It is not smoking that is important. You haven't smoked for 5 days Trudy, and that is a real achievement. Don't let thoughts like the one above undermine your quit. You are doing very well.

Trudy, it doesn't matter a bit whether you do it CT or not. The object is not to light a cigarette and that's what you are doing. :)

Let me ask you a question Trudy, seriously.

I quit by failed hypnotherapy, so, cold turkey. I never think of it that way. You have quit using NRT.

My question is this, at 100 days can you see any difference in the way we would deal with and get past the dilemma I had tonight ?

No, that's what, people get soooooo hung up on this and it means NOTHING in the grand scheme of things.

You are quitting smoking, that's what is important, nothing else. And may I say, you're doing a fab job if it too

Thanks guys, reading all the CT posts just made me feel a bit of a cheat & a little bit guilty, especially as i feel quite good with only a few minor cravings compared to others :o

But like you all say, i'm doing good just like everyone else on here.

Thanks again, you're a great bunch :)
