My summary of week 2..

Well its now time for me to move onto week 3 but i just want to share where i am for anyone starting out or struggling early into there own quit. I am only on day 15 so not cracked it and dont want to sound like i thnk i have but while i am feeling so positive i will get it down on here and hopefully keep others positive too.

To summarise week 2. It was challenging, i found new smells and also found my sleep.. and it was a hell of a lot easier than week 1.

The main reason it was challenging was that i challenged myself. Put myself in all the trigger situations i could think of and came through feeling stronger everytime. My mind is set on ticking as many boxes as possible early while my determination is high and the memory of days 1 to 3 are still fresh.

Found myself smelling people who smoke and not believing my family put up with me like that and I used to go into meetings like that. Not wanting to be that ass hole ex smoker at all but it really isnt a nice smell. I wont ever knock anyone for it but i am soo glad that aint me anymore.

Started week 2 sleep deprived to the max and ended it sleeping better than i have in years. Everyones different but i found new energy and drive to exercise and i think my body is loving it and being good to me by actually staying asleep till the alarm.

Feels great being a non-smoker moving onto week 3 :D cant smile wide enough.

Good luck to all either starting out and reading week 2 out of hope that it will get better or others just arriving at this stage - see you soon on week 3 (I will be there for a while as god knows where we go after that for a week.. there is no week 4??)

I'm so pleased for you Ican. And where we go now is up to you but save me a space on the week 3 bench for tomorrow.:D

I'm a strange one as I have always hated the smell of smoke but for some reason I convinced myself I smelt better than other smokers and my brand of fags was somehow not as pungent. The laughable thing is smoked cheapy, crappy mayfair probably the same as most of the "stinky" smokers.

I am determined to not become part of the anti smoking lobby, I think its everyones choice to be a smoker or not and its probably the hardest addiction to give up after ahrd drugs.

congratulations icanbreathe. SO please for you., Its a heck of a thing yu are doing.

Fore, i could not agree with you more, i would never even dream of criticising a smoker. They are mostly awesome people that are trapped and havent yet found their way out but rest assureed those that want to, will.

Congrats everyone!

I've been away for a few days - to see my family - and so haven't had computer access....

Glad everyone is doing well, and impressed by all the excercise going on! Yet to feel that inspired, although my cold finally seems to be on its way out, so maybe soon!

See you all in week 3 tomorrow!!!!

seats saved!

Well done you 2! Seats are saved in week 3 and they are so much more comfy in there ;)

See you tomorrow.. Apparently there's a rule that newest arrivals have to brew up all day.. Mines tea, milk, no sugar cheers :)

Like you I am finding exercise easier and quicker to recover from as I approach week 3. I also am waking up without wheezing and coughing for the first time in what feels like many months.

Another unexpected help was a trip to Legoland last week. There is just one smoking area in the whole park, and walking past it showed smoking for exactly what it is. A bunch of miserable looking adults, interrupting a fun day out with their family to feed an addiction. The air absolutely stank, and not one single person there looked happy smoking, or like they were enjoying it. Sucking desperately to top up their nicotine levels, but not enjoying it. Meanwhile their kids hung around looking miserable, and wondering why they weren't on rides or visiting the various attractions.

Not judging, by the way. That was me until quite recently. And I still kidded myself that I smoked because I wanted to, and because I enjoyed it.
