Marching on into week 2!

After a weekend of keeping myself really busy I have finally made it to week 2 :p

I've also cut down my Champix dose to 1/2 tablet in morning & 1/2 in evening. I was feeling jittery, spaced and generally not right in myself. Both the doctor & smoking nurse agreed that because I am so petite (not for much longer if I keep munching like I am lol!) that the 1mg dose spread over a day would probably be enough for me. I am also sleeping much better now :D

Starting week 2 I feel positive and healthy and strangely calm and assured about the whole thing. The acne outbreak (no doubt caused by sweating out all the nicotine) is receding and my skin looks and feels noticably better.

I'm only getting a couple of craves a day now which seem to be very easy to overcome compared to the start of my journey. No gripping NEED in my chest welling up that must be fulfilled like in the first few days. The actual smell and thought of having a cigarette at this point is not really appealing which is great.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! :D

  • Hi glad that you are feeling soooo positive and that your quit is going well, we all know its not easy but you seem to have the right attitude which will carry you through.

Cant comment on champix as went CT myself but it does seem to work for so many people overall, and like you I started this quit a petite and feel like elephant but I have lost most of the excess I put on and now struggling to lose last three pound so do wish I had been less of a choccy and crisps quitter now LOL

Good Luck and have a Happy Quit, and post often and then you can read back and see what fun you had and how much you enjoyed the first couple of weeks LOL xx

  • Hi I a on day eight too and struggled a bit over the weekend, I am ok while with other people but once on my own the nico demon is there on my shoulder saying "go on just have one! No one will know!" I am using the mini lozenges and finding them great when my resolve is weak.

Good luck as we all march to freedom!!!

Good on you Lucy pal yer doing a sterling job. That demon is a wee bugger so he is, just ignore him (could be a her mind ye lol). I normally stick my fingers in my ears when he speaks but can be rather embarrassing when out in public:D

  • Hi Vesper

Glad to hear you're feeling better on the l0wer dose of Champix

  • Thank you everyone!

The last week has been quite a journey! I don't think my house has ever been so clean. Started my painting & decorating schedule - keep eyeing up the living room ceiling - really needs a lick of paint to rid it of the nice yellow tarry tint!

Did feel the odd gnawing coming back over the weekend, but decided to have a few glasses of wine anyway and it tasted luvverley :p Red wine & chocolate mmmmmmmmm.

Good to hear everyone else made it through the weekend :D

  • Grrrgnnaaawwww

Having a really grumpy afternoon, feeling really snippity & ratty with everyone.

The slightest thing that has gone wrong I have just gone into a swearing tirade in my own head. Everywhere I've gone people are smoking (deliberately to annoy me obviously!), drivers are cutting me up, people walking on the pavement are either dawdling at an unsatifactorily slow pace for my liking or just getting in my way.

I was reading a mobile phone number today to a slightly dotty woman who is a bit deaf over the phone and she kept getting it wrong. She'd get to the fourth digit and say the wrong number. I'd go, "no, its 07776" and she'd go "so that's 077460 7776" basically just tagging my corrections onto this neverending number! "Noooooooo, start the number again, cross through what you've written" - arrrrggghhh! Now I'm ranting about it, I can see the comedy factor in this and feel like a right witch:o

My sinuses hurt - I thought I might be coming down with a cold, which made me grumpier. Then I realised that I had been clenching my teeth for about 4 hours with tension! :(

    Deep.....breaths.....

  • day 9 :) and another quick rant to my self mid morning going up the m6 (car drivers beware) in my 44 ton truck, but got through it ok. had a sleep and woke up all happy. new week new me
