last week to 2 months

Morning all,

Just wanted to share that I am happy that next Friday I'll be starting my 3rd month and officially the longest quit since I started smoking! I quited last year for 1 month something (don't really remember how much, but certainly less than 2 months) but it was not very good quit because I never ceased taking nic(was on patches) and even smoked 1-2 a week.

However, this time I quited cold turkey and haven't taken even 1 puff!!!

I am going to celebrate next Friday, even started making plans already :D:D:D

  • I am thinking of ending my profile here, tired of waiting for a couple of days to get reply such as "congrats, nice!" which consists of 1 line tops. As if people here are posting only to increase their number of posts. Not only that but sometimes you don't even get this kind of replies. As in this thread...

I can't get support here, nor give it - this forum is either dead or people are too inactive.

  • hi ninetail

well done done on almost reaching month three

be carefull around the three month mark as u have to watch out for the terrible threes that old nico demon trys catching u out on the threes

as for the forum i think in the summer months and weather being nice less people are sat infront of there computer instead they are out and about in the sun

also u must remember it is holiday season especially with the kids off school i am off for a week next week [a smoke free holiday by the way loving it]

also i know myself i like to get out and exercise so much more since quitting like yesterday i was out for 2 and half hours walking [really want to solve the weight gain now] so again less time on the computer

when the weather turns bad just watch the increased activity on here

so well done and stay strong

  • Ninetails, don't take it so personally, things are very quiet on the forum at the moment. I've hardly had any time to post lately.

Very pleased for you that you've got so far with the quit. Keep on going. It does get easier and easier.

Hope you celebrate in style. Beware too much booze though...;)

    H x

  • Well I guess I did take it a little bit personal, because it feels as I am the only one ignored...

I am finishing my 2nd month and starting the 3rd this Friday I already made a lot of plans for the day - even taking a day off work :)

I think I am getting addicted to celebrating no smoking anniversaries :P

I guess I am just happy to have found so many excusses to party ;)

In regards to the alchohol - I am not having any lately since I am on a diet.

I go out too in the nice weather, but what do you do at work?

  • i work night shift at the weekend i have five kids to attend to all week so its go go go most of the time

  • Blimey Boo, I feel for you with a job and five kids to look after. Do you type on here with your left hand while simultaneously grilling fishfingers with your right, and changing a nappy with your toes?

And I thought I was busy...

  • Oh and ninetails, I'm addicted to milestones too. I actually counted in days for the first 100.

Just THINK of the party when we reach the penthouse :D

  • Congratulations Ninetails. Your doing so well, I too am not on much as i seem to be on the go all the time and the lovelly weather means im not sat inside on the computer all the time.

Anyhow congrats again and here's to your next milestone :)

    lol

  • Thanks nutty :)

I also would be on the go if I could, but my work is such that I have to work in front of the pc all day.

@ Boo - yeah you might be busy, but you have 5 kids lol. If I had 5 kids this would be like a dream come true. I won't even marry...

  • Its just that I am addicted to bachelor life and would not be able to quit :P

Much like smoking, it's all about changing the way you think about stuff... but hey, enjoy your bachelorhood. One day the woman will come along who will knock some sense into you :D
