Ok it's one of those battle-tooth-and-nail-with-every-fibre-of-my-being days for me.... sitting here crying because i'm craving so bad. i'm not going to smoke though. what i am going to do is lie down for a nap. that often helps. for now at least. i'm just praying that i'll be able to continue quitting....
in about 11 hours i reach 1 month completely smoke free.... not a drag or anything. have literally not even touched a cigarette or even a cigarette box. I did quit champix also 7 days ago, and i've been thinking that that's been making things worse though i don't know how that's possible.
my cat seems to be sick. everybody's nagging at me because of it, but the symptoms are really the same things i've been feeling, so i've been wondering if it's possible that my cat is also going through withdrawals??? after all, i used to smoke 40 cigarettes a day, every day, and mostly in a room without ventilation, where my cat would often be with me.....
please excuse the whining. just wanted to express in an effort to head off this depressed feeling.....

Hi Shanita, sorry to hear you are having a tough day. Be kind to yourself and yes, have a nap or a nice bath maybe.
you dont need prayers to help you continue quitting, you just need to remind yourself that it is the smoking that makes you feel like this in the first place. If you have a cig, immediately afterwards you will wish you hadn't. There is no point in that.
Do whatever it takes to get through it, cry your lovely heart out if it helps.... you have done so brilliantly and you will continue to do so.
Sending you all of the love and best wishes in the world. :)
PS - as for the cat, that very intesresting and i wouldnt be surprised if it too was withdrawing, i would call the vet to ask.
Shanita nearly a month thats fantasic.Im a bit behind you and still get craves but nothing that would tempt me.
Please stay strong and remember why you quit and how far you have come. You have beaten some really strong craves in the early days so you can get through today.,...........then you can get through every day.Well done to you!!!
As someone who has just gone through my own personal hell week I sympathise and empathise with you. I found it to be an emotional wringer and I'm glad I'm just about out the other side.
Use prayer, rituals or whatever you like or suits you to ensure you stay stopped.
Shanita, Sorry the start to the day was bad for you, hopefully it turned around improved as day went on. You're almost at the end of Month One, right behind Magic and Nutmeg!
Hi Shanita.Am so sorry to hear youve hit a storm my heart goes out to you as Ive just about come out of one(a lot fatter than when I went in!-couldnt stop eating and slept lots) I had a lightbulb moment that I know will sound silly but it sort of helped me when I was really suffering.I found myself DESPERATE for a cigarette. Suddenly I realised that even if I was a smoker again that I would STILL have those cravings(and probably worse) and that the only difference was that I was no longer damaging my health and lungs and that the cravings would pass(not as quick as having a fag though) I am desperate for the cravings to GO AWAY! and they definitely wont if a fag is smoked. You have come so far and you have done brilliantly well.I think you ought to treat yourself to something very special to celebrate.Ive got two cats and before I quit I noticed one of them was getting a bit wheezy. It helped me find the resolve to quit.Since then his breathing is much better and he doesnt snore so much! All the best Shanita x
