I'll have quit for 6 days at 10:45 this morning. I'm going CT after reading Allen Carr's Easyway book and so far it's not been too bad.

However, today I'm getting that irritating nagging voice telling me to just have one and I'll feel better for it.

I'm telling that voice where to get off :D.

Never quit quitting everyone. If you have a blip, learn from it, dust yourself down, and get right back in the quit saddle. Millions have freed themselves from this addiction. You can too!!

Go Captain! It is so irritating is it? Your body is throwing everything at you now but DON'T give in, take it one day at a time & say you will not smoke for today! I got through it by call him (the nagging voice) Bill & laughing at everything he 'said' Yep, I looked crazy for a little while but didn't smoke! :)

Hang in there, your doing brill! :D

Those head chatter days where our addiction is speaking suck but they are par for the course and a very small prize to pay for what you will gain. Take it easy on yourself and be proud, you've got a great attitude, you'll make it for sure.

Keep going captaincrunch....you can do it. The people here are fantastic and will listen to you and no matter what you do still put up with ya. Tell the voice in your head "NOPE" Not One Puff EVER!! AGAIN!! I did that over and over and over again....whatever it takes to get this quit down and out of your system!!!

Proud of you and will keep praying for you. I smoked for 44 years and I quit...so can you!!!..ppat

Thanks Bella and Ppat. I feel strong and determined :).

This is my third serious quit attempt. My previous two lasted nine and four months respectively - both using patches. This time I've gone CT after reading Allen Carr's Easyway book and I've not had any major problems apart from that annoying nagging voice from time to time :p. I know that's all in my head anyway so can be dismissed.

I had the support of many good people on this forum during my last quit. I feel bad for letting them down by lapsing, but I *will* get there this time.

Hi CC

That nagging feeling is that nasty Mr Nic trying to get you to give in and feed him, remember your much much stronger than him and you know you can beat him and tell him to sod off.

It will get easier, you know it will. Stay strong, stay positive and remember Sian's saying.

YOU CAN DO THIS!

Good luck :) x

Hey Jo!!!!! :)

Lovely to see you, and even more lovely to see you're still quit. That's fabulous!!

I'm determined this quit's the one for me. I got complacent last time and blew it :(. I won't do that again.

Anyway, how have things been with you?

You can do it. You know if you have one it could be the first of a long line of them, and you don't want that. Stay strong:)

True enough Becky. You know what they say:

One's too many, a thousand's not enough.

That's exactly how it is with the fags - All or nothing. I think I'll opt for nothing :D.

Hi CC

Things are going brilliantly, TY Ed. I dont think about smoking now, i have totally gone off of them and i know in my heart that smoking is def in the past and not part of my future anymore. Its almost 2 years now and i cant believe how time flies.

You will get there i know u will and we are all about to help you. I think itsinthegenes also lapsed a few times but the last post i saw she was trying again which is also amazinng. You will always be part of our Oct 2010 group regardless x

I have decided to go back to work now, only my local KFC and do just 12 hrs a week but thats enough for me. I dont want anymore not with looking after the kids etc.

As i have said before i can honestly say i dont miss smoking now, its nice to go out and not have to remember my cigs and lighter, then have to go outside and get wet or whatever. They ruled my life for so long that now i am just so happy to be free. I also feel comfortable around people knowing i dont have smelly breath or clothes and its lovely being in the majority now that dont have the addiction like i had. I know i still have to be careful but i have had many stressful situations and still not reached for one so i think i may finally be there. :)

I know you can do this though, i have a good vibe coming across from you just cc if you do start to get distracted let us know ok, keep us posted and dont leave it so long next time. No one will think anyless of you.

You are a star cc and deserve to have this as your final quit so that you can live your life without those nasty little blighters.

Stay positive and keep smiling :)
