Into Month 5 ...

Hi All

As usual, haven't really been able to get on all week, not keeping up with the news, and not enough time to reply to all those I'd like to.

But here I am, into Month 5 as of earlier this week. Today is Day 126, 18 weeks. I know this because Excel has just told me! :o

I stopped counting the days long ago, and can't actually remember when I stopped counting the weeks. Time is now just flying by. I'm still amazed that I've got this far, and would not have done so without the support of all you lovely people.

Whilst I still 'feel' something most days, I can treat it as a mere 'sensation' that I can just brush off wthout giving it any of the attention that it doesn't deserve!

Best wishes all. :D

Well done!!!

It's a great sign when you're no longer conscious of how long ago you quit. It shows you've really let go, and even if you get the occasional reminder about smoking, or have a brief desire to smoke (some still call this a 'crave'), it is so much easier to dismiss when your mind is off cigarettes 99.9% of the time.

Alex.

Thanks Alex. You're absolutely right. And no, I wouldn't grace it with the title of crave. Just a memory that I can dismiss. Great feeling - long may it continue. :D

Thanks Karri. Yep - DH is very proud of me and pleased for me. Although I have always tried to face my quit head on, kept my routine, not avoided triggers etc, I've been really lucky that I haven't had to be around smokers very much. Even in the earlier days, when I was having a hissy fit, stomping around, announcing I was off to buy cigarettes, not once did he ever say 'off you go then'. Once, he actually stood sentinel, guarding the front door to stop me from going out till I'd calmed down. :o OMG, looking back, soooooo embarassing. But also, looking back, can LMAO at such irrational behaviour. ;)

Blimey, I hope this helps the newbies rather than put them off!

How are you doing? Any nearer to another try yourself?

:D x

Nice one Shazza, I'm slowly getting round to that way thinking now, as I posted earlier...but 5 months and your state of mind, more proof to the newcomers that it CAN be done, another great example! :)
