day 10 and really tired?: Is it normal to... - No Smoking Day
day 10 and really tired?
Yes, Nikki, tiredness is one of the common side-effects of giving up. It can last for weeks (months, anyone?), but will eventually subside. If possible, get yourself some extra rest by going to bed a bit earlier... A extra half hour a night will do you a world of good. You deserve it!
Alex.
Same!
I'm on day 29 and could sleep for England so I know what you mean; I find I'm OK as long as I don't stop for long but an afternoon nap at the weekend never hurt anyone, to echo what Alex says, we deserve it
Yes Nikki, it's normal so they tell me. I sleep 8 - 9 hours every night which is usual for me but I can sleep all afternoon as well and I have never before slept during the day. I have never before felt tiredness like this and as for getting motivated, forget it. I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and I'm hoping it stops soon.
Una, it does stop, I can assure you. You can't wipe away several years smoking in just a few weeks. Your body is repairing itself, and that takes a lot of energy. You need to let nature take its course and have faith that you WILL see the benefits on the long term.
Hang in there!
Alex.
Alex, I've given into it. I'm being incredibly lazy. If my body wants me to rest then I'm going to relax and enjoy it
lol yeah pajarma day everyday for a few months sounds alright to me!! well im alot better than i was say 3 days ago so i can see how it slowly goes away....say le ve i guess! xxx
Nikki, it seems to come and go. I think it's going and back it comes. Might as well relax and enjoy it
Just think..you are going from constant stimulation from nicotene to none...your body is all sorts of jacked up. For me it was 14 years(5,000+ days) of smoking..so to think that in 10 days or even 4 weeks you will be feeling fantastic is not realistic. Most people who are alcoholics or hard drug addicts go to rehab for 30 days..so for us to be quitting a drug while leading our normal live is quite a feat! And also going to wear us right out.
Stay strong
