Nearly a week. I had quite a good day yesterday apart from feeling tired, until bedtime :-)

Day 7 for me also

Hi Una, well done on reaching day 7, I am on day 7 also, feeling tired and still having weird dreams, but it might be the patches that are causing them. Feeling great about being a non smoker and positive about staying smoke free, we are all doing so well, keep up the good work everyone ;)

Hi Una, I think it's all part of the withdrawal to be honest - I keep waking up really early which isn't like me

I just found this...

Withdrawal symptoms and nicotine

A smoker's nervous system becomes accustomed to functioning with nicotine.

When you stop smoking, the reduced nicotine intake will disturb the balance of the central nervous system, causing withdrawal symptoms.

The most common withdrawal symptoms are:

cravings for tobacco

irritation

anger

increased appetite

weight gain

concentration problems

depression or low mood

tiredness

constipation

restlessness

insomnia

anxiety

Fortunately, the majority of these symptoms tend to disappear after a few weeks.

So I think it's all normal :)

I suppose tiredness is a lot easier to cope with than other things. Most of the time I just give into it. I find it hard to get motivated under normal circumstances but now I've come to a full stop. My grandchildren Skype me from NZ about 11 pm on Saturday nights and I struggled to keep awake for it last night. I don't normally go to sleep till the early hours. I was wide awake afterwards but I did soon wind down again.

The only time I really want to smoke now seems to be when I've been out shopping and come back home. Apart from that I don't miss it.

Anyone else finding certain things make you want to smoke?
