Well, almost time to say goodbye to week four (in just over 7 hours). As I approach the start of my fifth week, I am finding myself in awe at the sheer power of this forum. I have seen people go from being on top of their cravings to almost caving in. A quick post on here and they receive replies offering advice, a dose of reality or some humour to cheer them up...whatever they need to stave the crave.
I feel really lucky that I have, as yet, not felt that low. I know that my day is coming and I thank those who are going to respond (giving me a swift hard kick to the butt to keep me on track:eek in advance. I admit, there have been days where I've wanted to light up again but spending some time on here reading posts and trying to help others has been enough to get me through. I really value the information contained in this forum.
For those who are ahead of me, you inspire me and encourage me. Please keep pulling me through.
For those who are just starting out, I hope that I can join the others ahead of you, and offer encouragement and advice when needed, I will help to pull you through.
Instead of chain smoking, lets use this chain to help us to banish the demon Nicotine.

your doing so well and thats a great positive post to read
just try and keep a positive mind and in the words of a song things will only get better the longer you stay smoke free
the fact you get a wide variety of different people that are all here for the same reason and all have there own story and opinions are some of the greatest positives you can have
well done, I just found this forum and I think it will help me on my way to being smoke free. day 2 for me and have been strugling a bit but determined to keep it up. You are doing really well, WELL DONE !!
Thank you all for your support and messages of congratulations. I really appreciate everyone on this forum, young or old, new quits and experienced alike. I think the main reason I love it is that nobody is applying pressure or making someone feel bad for stumbling. Everyone is supportive of everyone else.
Whatever stage of the quit you are at, one day to years of freedom (even those thinking about quitting as they are at the very start of the journey), I think you should all give yourselves a pat on the back and congratulate yourself. There would be very few people (other than other members here) who would do the same.
I found some phrases to help us get through.
If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.
If you’re going through hell, keep going.
You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
Challenges are inevitable. Getting back up however, is a choice.
Are you really going to let this defeat you? After all the work, sweat, and tears you have put into this, you are going to give up now?
You’re not alone. Many have gone before you. Many will go after you. The important thing to keep in mind is that you need to keep on going.
