Gaynor. I am so so so so so so so so proud of you.....and so so so so pleased. Four weeks! Could you Adam and Eve it? You and me will stroll into that penthouse arm in arm. Well done you great big smasher you
You were the very first person to welcome me to this site and I've watched your ups and downs ever since, and been willing you to do it.
Those 'I could SO smoke a fag now' moments are going to happen. Especially at the start. But you can stare them down, and keep going. Just don't light that first fag, just don't do it, no matter what, and you'll be fine.
And even if the real sun doesn't shine, the metaphorical light of freedom will shine on you. Its beams are glittery and pretty and can give a glow to the rainiest day. Makes your hair shine and your skin look great too. Kicks Lancome's arse any old day.
I still have four days, eight hours and 27 minutes until I reach the 4 week mark. I think it must be a phase of quitting that we get so tired. The last few mornings have been hell, it has taken me about half an hour each morning just to be able to open my eyes and look at the clock (never mind reaching over and switching the damned thing off). I've been told that it gets easier and the way I see it, it couldn't get much worse. Other than that little morning blip, I feel really good. I don't often think of smoking anymore (other than those times when I think "normally, I'd be smoking up a storm right now").
Stay strong. It is through the strength of those travelling in front of me, like yourself, that helps me keep going sometimes.
In case you are interested (probably not), I now have four days, eight hours and 20 minutes until I reach 4 weeks (i'm not that slow, I'm at work:o).
Hey Gaynor congratulations and jubilations to you, be proud and pleased with youself beam like the sun. 4wks is awesome, a proper milestone, im happy for you. You've cheered me on many a time and i thank you.
