Not stopping by as often...

My quit really isn't THAT old, just seven weeks and a day or two. But it feels pretty well anchored, and I feel quite confident that I can maintain it for the rest of my life.

Not that I'm not going to be vigilant, or have unexpected craves in the future, o perhaps have to really battle with my old stinkin' thinkin' habits when I face a future tough situation, but I feel pretty darn good that I've crossed some hurdle and I just sort of know I'm going to be okay.

I say that, in part, because I visit this website less often now. I am starting to see myself moving on and focusing on other things now. Quitting smoking remains important to me, but it isn't the MOST important thing in my life by a long shot. I don't think about it that often.

I don't know how long others stay engaged with the site, and I suppose it's different for everyone. I'm not leaving permanently, but I know I'll be here less often for a while, unless the bottom drops out of my quit.

Am I making sense?

Well done DGee on reaching a place of relative safety. I'm still using this lifeline on a daily basis to ensure I don't loose my footing but will wean myself into the big world when the time is right. Until then, go forth and don't be a stranger to your friends here and those who are yet to grace the doors of the quitting lifeline.

Best of luck DGee,

Hi sounds like you are very comfortable with your quit which is great and what we will all be one day. I hope you visit the site from time to time to pass on your experience.:)

Good to hear DGee! Now don't be a total stranger, perhaps swing on in for some big milestones! Party at 6 months, Huge party at a year lol! See you around, and take care,

Vike

Hi DGee,

Great to hear that you're comfortable enough with your quit to leave the forum, but please consider sticking around or dropping in from time to time to help others who are perhaps not so confident. I know that I for one will miss your candour and can do attitude!

Well done Gee on reaching a stage where you feel comfortable to handle. Please don't fly the nest altogether as I will miss your valuable input and witty sense of humour.

Every once in a while a gem of a poster registers on a public forum and you full into this category. :)

I can understand that, although there will never be room for complacency, and my weekly visit to this site gives me that little reminder. It also allows me to pay back some of the support that I got on here from others.

Really well done to you. :)
