This is it, I'm stopping tomorrow!

Hi

I am really going to try to quit this awful habit starting tomorrow once and for all. Reading through the posts on this forum has helped already. I feel quite positive at the moment and am, in a weird kind of way, looking forward to tomorrow.

I know from the numerous other times I've tried that it's not going to be easy, but I was on my own before. Now I've found this forum I think it will help.

Good luck to everyone else quitting tomorrow. xx

Hi Tracey

If I'm honest I'm a bit nervous too! Don't worry, I'm sure we can do this. Don't look at it as loosing something (cigarettes), but gaining something - freedom from those horrible expensive little things that won't let you leave the house without them!

Good luck for tomorrow! xxxx

Welcome

Hi T.T. & tracy,

No need to panic, just get your mindset right and say:

"I am not going to be a slave to ciggs anymore."

Throw everything out before you go to bed tonight. Get up with a positive attitude and anytime you feel a craving coming on drink plenty of water, keep busy, take deep breaths, scream if you have too and log in and read loads. This helped me,

Everyone on here have been a godsend to me. They are soooo wise in this area as they all have been through it and keep me going every day.

I know you can do it. :D

I am on day 15 and It feels great. It gets easier and easier as the days go on.

Wishing you all the very best for tomorrow.

Eileen

My first day i was so scared actually it was blind panick!!!! i took each day as it came and i am now almost 3 months down the line. I would not say it was easy but you have to think of the benefits... Does anyone really want to say those words to them selves " never thought it would happen to me, wish i had stopped when i had the chance" you can all do it with determination....Good luck tomorrow.

i stopped 1/1/09:D

Hi, everyone and welcome to the forum! So glad you have decided to quit. It really isn't as hard as you've probably heard. The best way to prepare yourself is to read, read, and read some more. Marg has given you 2 really good links to start with. The more you know about your addiction, the easier it is to quit and stay quit. This forum is full of people who are here just to help each other. Post often and read others posts. We're all in this together! Keep :D

It's good to have a lot of new people stopping tomorrow.... it is a good day as any but almost a bit more special ;) You guys will do fine.... do your homework and know what to expect... be prepared and be ready for slight discomfort.... the real pain and panic (and yes, I felt it) is simply only in your (and my) head.... meaning - you can really do this.... we will be here for you tomorrow and the day after and the day after that..... so many great people on here.... you are not alone. Keep a positive attitude...... and keep :):):)
