Hi , just signing in to day 6, and I am so surprised I am doing so well.
I must admit I am eating loads but I am really trying to eat healthy.
Porage for breakfast, home made soup for lunch chicken or fish dinner and a glass of red wine in the evening, seeing it's the start of the weekend so I will probably have two glasses. Going to yoga tonight, I really am trying to be healthy all round and I don't feel like i am punishing myself.
Maybe cold turkey is not for everyone, but I have found it to be the best ever for me, I guess only time will tell.

Just for the record I too stopped by Cold Turkey. Tried many others methods but all ended in failure. As so many others have found though, this Forum and the information to read up and educate ourselves did make the difference.
Thank's Cav, I have tried everything you can think of but never considered CT
just assumed it was not for me, but really it's easy you just stop smoking.
You get craving but no more than you get with patches etc, it may be different experiences for others I can only give you mine, for me it is working at this moment in time, craving have eased and don't last long.

Well done Joan, CT really is the way forward and it is great that you are feeling strong at this early stage but please be aware that the first 4-6 weeks can be a struggle and certain moments can creep up on you so being prepared and educated is vital - The battle is in your head more than anything.
Once I got to month 3 it really was a breeze.
I wish you all the best with your quit, it really is worth it.
Must admit CT isn't something I'd ever seriously considered though I've probably given it a half hearted try. Its encouraging that its working for you - and you've nearly done a week already!!! Definitely worth a glass of wine I'd say!
If you give any method of quitting a half hearted try you have failed before you start.
Well done joanie. Don't go over board with the wine and come back tomorrow saying well its not my fault really. I just got a bit tipsy and thought just one wouldn't hurt. Haha I know you wont.
