day 5, yesterday, was worst yet. nearly caved in. It's all about triggers. had to do a long journey in the car, I drive a lot for work and the car is my own little world where I can (could) smoke as much as I want.
Anyway, day 6 here I come.

Hi
I remember how you are feeling. I've have a 30 min drive to work and I used to cram 3 ciggies in on the way. I found the ciggies in the car the hardest part of my quit. But honestly it does get easier. You will look back in a few months time and laugh and you won't be able to believe what a hold nicotine used to have on you. I'm nearly at 10 months and I hardly ever think about smoking now. Keep going because you are doing really well.
GTAT
Well done on Day 6!!
Like you my car, was my secure smoking place LOL, when I walked out the House the minute i got into the car i "lit up"
When I left the office the minute I got in the car I "Lit Up"
To break this, what I did was:
Make sure you have two thing's in the car or with you.
1] A buddy bottle of water (With me 24/7 to this day!!!)
2] Peppermint Gum (In the car as I am not fond of gum).
The minute you crave, take a stick of gum chew for a minute or two then take a sip of water, the water feels ICE cold and your mouth feels like you just brushed your teeth.
This killed the smoking urge for me there and then!!!
Hope it helps
Stay Strong
Nice to know I'm not alone in having a bad time in the car. I have the gum, but will get some water too Gary. Working at home today and tomorrow but 350 mile round trip to do on Friday - better make it a large bottle of water!
A large bottle of water and all the snacks you can fit in the car LOL
Potatoe Chips
Biltong
Samoosas
Pizza
You name it !!!
well done better make you some room in week two club!!!!
Well done GTAT.
The car was my worst trigger too. Now I find it so lovely to get in the car and stay warm as I dont have to have the window open to let the smoke out.
Gary's tip sounds brilliant, I might do that just around the house.
Well here you go into week 2, keep at it you are doing so well.
