heart burn

hi everyone i m nearly at week 6 and last week i started getting a slight pain nothing serious!! around my back and stomach. To me it feels like heart burn although ive had it a few times im not to sure. Ive read on here a few people have had heart burn from their quits just wondering if anyone else is experincing heart burn i am going to docs this week just to get it checked out!. Also i havent had a cough yet or bought up any mucus (sorry)!! i just thought everyone had this and i havent, even my husband who doesnt even smoke has been coughing weird!! any advice would be great x

Heartburn

The paradox here is that smokers who had heartburn while they smoked find it disappears, while some smokers, who’ve never had heartburn, often suffer with it for a short time when they quit. Avoid acid producing foods and ask your Pharmacist for advice. Can last between 3 weeks to 3 months (not the same intensity throughout)

However... no bad thing that you're getting it checked out.

Also, not everyone coughs up crud. Your lungs are still clearing out, don't worry.

What exactly is crud? I've seen it used a lot on this forumn but I haver no idea what it means!

Crud generally means rubbish

I've had similar symptoms on and off over the first week of this quite; if I recall I also suffered on my last (two :S ) proper quits.

Had terrible heart burn most of the day yesterday, and on day 3 and yesterday evening had discomfort between my shoulder blades. Sort of feels like a trapped muscle.

I believe to be quite common but I think you're doing the right thing in getting it checked out.

Okay, cheers Stav! Have you tried Gaviscon or Rennie? They really do work wonders for heart burn!!!

I have to take other medication as i have a problem with my blood. Unfortunately this means most other mess are out of bounds as they don't mix well...so I have to just sit throughh things

Oh okay, I am sorry to hear that Heart burn is such an unpleasant feeling!
