Hi River,
Welcome! I thought I'd say hi before I go because I'm moving out of month 2 on the 11th July. I'm glad you found this site and wish you luck on this quit journey,
Sue
Hey RBR,
I'm glad I'm not the only one confused about counting! I have a well-known inability to get anything right when it comes to posting milestones. The good news for people like us is that we can approximate and get kudos whenever we want, and several times over if we like. :D:D
On a more serious note, however, please be careful that counting days / months etc. can make the quit seem to take longer than necessary. I remember from my own experience and often see that in the beginning, many people are looking at their watches and gauging since how long they have given up, or how much more time they have to wait before posting the next milestone.
In my humble opinion, it's better to focus on getting on with life and post milestones when you realize they have happened, or are about to happen, rather than waiting for them to happen.
As an example, I accidentally posted my 8th month milestone four days early, and even though I had already given up for 8 months, it seemed to take forever for the real 8th month milestone to actually happen. I had to wait 4 whole days in anticipation... Now, how silly is that?
Alex.
day 59
Moving up and out of month two on the 13th ! Definately getting easier. When drink comes into play i do think about having one, but the thought soon disappears as quickly as it entered - how? - i remember how much i actually want to stop, and to have to re-do all these days woud be sheer defeat.
Keep going everyone
pleiades12001 - your 2 days ahead.. how is your quit going?
