I always thought smoking calmed me down. I also thought my kids, when they were being annoying, drove me to needing a smoke to calm me down.
These things are not true. I am by FAR a calmer person now. And it was the need for a nicotene fix that made the kids seem annoying, not the kids. Either that, or in the last months they have completely changed their behaviour, which I doubt!!
I've said it before but it bears saying again, because it still amazes me every now and then. Cigarettes do not relax you, and they do not help with stress.

They were comforting rather than stress relievers and I think as smokers we were unable to tell the difference - I still feel the need to have something in my hands and hold a pen like a cigarette when typing now, it doesn't relieve stress but it does provide a form of comfort....

1000% agree with u i made situations more stressfull would blame the kids and stomp off for a fag cause i felt i deserved it then
