17 months today

Thought I would let you all know it's 17 months today since I last smoked.

As you can see from my signature I smoked for 52 years more than 20 a day at one time more than 40 a day.

So all you newbies just starting out who doubt themselves it can be done.

Does that mean you're coming to see me

I have used 2 packets of tissues. I will never be a none smoker I'm a smoker who does not smoke any more. I'm an ex smoker and as smokers will tell you we're the worst.

Benson and hedges which I USED TO SMOKE are now over £7 per packet, where did I ever get the money to smoke. He he I don't care now.

And thanks to all you lovely people for you support, I still need it.

17 months is fantastic!! keep this going Jack, who knows, perhaps your recent smoking dream came about because you were thinking about passing another monthly milestone in your fabulous quit. I think so. What a relief it truly is when you suddenly realise you were actually dreaming. How real it seems at the time tho.

That was a nice pic you posted of the ashtray though, ohhh how I remember how I kept filling those horrid ashtrays.. including the one in my old car which i now find was utterly disgusting.. yet as a smoker? I thought nothing of it.

Now you mention your old quit of 52 years at MORE than 20 a day.. ok well lets take it as just being 20 a day as a round number...

52 years * 365 days = 18980

18980 * 20 cigs =

379600 cigarette butts... now imagine how big a cig-butt mountain that would be if you had them all together.. that is the only thing left from all the money spent on those cigarettes.. if you saw all that together, it would frighten the heck out of you or anyone thinking that smoking ok... ohhh if only we could have that vision at the time we first ever decided to try a smoke.
