And I'm craving a cigarette, big time. But a little bit more about me I'm 28 and live in the Netherlands and I have a very sweet cat.
All the excuses run through my head like, just one cig or and all.

Hi Samantha, Congratulations on taking the first big step and quitting. For sure you will have cravings or you will want a cigarette out of habit. When the urges come just get up and get busy. Chew gum, candy or mints. Go for a walk, do some cooking, cleaning, whatever. Anything to keep your mind occupied and your body busy. The urges soon pass. I smoked for over 30 years and I am almost 2 weeks without a cigarette. I never thought I could quit, thought it would be so difficult. However I have and I am so proud of myself. When I think of having one now, it's out of habit, but I just smile and say to myself " you don't smoke anymore". I keep patting myself on my back and everyone is so proud of me, just like they will be for you.
Remember quitting is a good thing, so when you think of having one just do as I did, tell yourself you don't smoke anymore with a BIG Smile. Wake up in the morning and congratulate yourself for being a non smoker for another 24 hours. Those hours quickly become weeks and then months.
Keep going and when you need to come onto the sight there is alot of support here and reading other peoples stories may help as well.
Keep up the good work
i smoked:mad:
I'ts okay, it happens. The important thing is to think whether you want and are ready to quit. If you are then go for it again, whether you do it cold turkey or with something like champix.
Just like falling down, get up, dust yourself off and keep going!
good luck
I smoked too
I managed 2 weeks and like yourself i smoked. Its taken me a few weeks to get my head back into quitting mode. But im just going to keep quitting till i manage. I started again today. Are you using patches? I find they work really well in controlling the urges you get. Its the habit thats tough to break. Its a fab feeling when you manage your first day! Im new to this forum and i have found just reading other peoples posts is a massive help. Everyone has highs and lows just like us!
Hi Guys ... we all fall off the wagon sometimes ....I did so many times already ... actually for me the Patch and all these gums never really worked ... actually the Allan Carr Book explained to me why it did not ... I went this time 8 days without actual major cravings ... today was a bad day ... but for some reason when i smelled the cigarette pack ... ( not the smoke ) just the pack .. it made me almost sick ... I don;t know what has changed since i read the book but it is really hard to fall of the wagon for me right now .. I got some Zyban just as Backup plan to make sure that these urges stay under control ... not sure if I really need it ... but it gives me a double safety net ... I am not so sure that giving you body nicotine in other forms makes it not a bit difficult as you are still feeding this nicotine monster ...
Anyway whatever method you use ... I wish you the best and success ... I am just 8 days ahead of you ...
Best
Chris
