First of all Well done for reacing day 12, you are doing amazing. Im on day 11 also using patches.
It must be really hard with your partner still smoking, but try to remember why you decided to quit. The health reasons, cost, smell etc. Dont give in now youve come too far. Dont let all your hard work go to waste.
How you feel right now wont last forever xxx
Im doing ok but i am forcing myself to stay positive. When i get thoughts of smoking it is an effort to dismiss them. The more i am doing this the less i get.
There is a website in my signature about symptoms which will help you to understand the feelings you are going through, this will help you to know things will get better. My husband still smokes a little but always outside and never when with me. I know it makes it seem more difficult when you know he is still doing it but you must have had a good reason why you wanted to do this for yourself, try to hold that thought and look for good things to happen.
We try to pass on a message to all new people to read as much as you can and educate yourself about why you smoked, this will help you to see that it was not the wonderful, happy and fun thing we made ourselves believe. There are lots of websites in my signature, there are also books you might like to read like, Allen Carr and Chris Holmes who both have lots of info.
Don't be disheartened. It often happens that we set out on a quit hoping/thinking that after the first week is done and dusted we'll be fine and dandy with barely a passing thought of fags. OK, maybe we're kidding ourselves, but we still think it.
And when it doesn't happen and we're climbing the walls after a couple of weeks it's easy to get really downhearted and irritable and think we'll always feel this way.
But hang in there. I promise you it DOES get better. You are doing SO well and you should be really proud of yourself. Give yourself a huge pat on the back and do something nice to celebrate getting through another day smoke free. Take one day at a time. You'll get there!
yes it will get easier and feeling like that will become less and less, ive just gone past three months and do feel down about it sometimes but I assure yo it gets better, so please keep going, you might feel down but your health is on the up!
thank you so much to all of you for the kind words and encouragement,i will take all your advice on board and stick with this and hopefully i will be able to help someone else in the near future, its good to hear from someone who knows what you are feeling as you do not seem to get any encouragement from the ones that are constantly moaning at us to stop,i think my family just think here we go again!!so once again thank you and will be back soon hopefully feeling betterxxxxxx
