Sorry guys, if you's are sensible you's will have stopped reading after the title lol.

Anyway ladies. Does anyone else feel that this is so so so much harder during PMS. I mean I have been very positive but now having extreme ups and downs.

I am trying to convince myself that stopping was a great idea but then on the other hand, I think that I felt better about myself as a smoker. My skin has broken out, I am moody, feel teary (all to do with the PMS) but I dont think it was as bad as this when I was a smoker :(

Ok, i'm a man but carried on reading;)

All i can say about this is that one of my daughters suffers from bad PMS and has attempted to quit a few times and each time has failed during the PMS cycle so i can sympathise with the issue.

Right, that's it the man's now out of this ladies conversation

Thanks Pete,

Hope your daughter manages it in the end. She is lucky to have an understanding dad, my dad would cover his ears and sing before listening to "girl problems" lol.

Thanks Quitter!

Yeah I think I need a cry, welling up in work and keep having to do that thing, you know where you tilt your head back and hope the water runs back into your eyeballs lol.

Il get a bath and finish my book when I get in, then "My big fat gypsy wedding is on" that should keep my occupied.

I got that for my first 2 cycles... especially my first! WOW! Like you say, the crying at work, literally sobbing at home for no reason etc...

It goes away after a while but always be vigilant I guess... I almost lit up on Saturday in a bar while I was in tears! Luckily Boyfriend to the rescue....

Well its not uncommon for men to get grumpy, low moods when quitting so its not specific to PMS.

Naturally if you add the mood swings from quitting to PMS mood swings its bound to make things worse than when you were a smoker while you go through the process of withdrawal. The quitting mood swings don't continue on, though, so soon enough you'll just be left with being moody because you are female

Hope that helps

Nic, thanks for attempting to understand  lol

Yeah you are right, all the emotion and moods combined is making it very hard but I am going to stay positive. If it wasnt for the ciggies I wouldnt be feeling like this anyway so starting again will not help.

Hitting males around the head would though! :D

Shaz,

Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you lol. Don't pre empt it though becasue everyone's symtoms are different. It is just the combination of both is never really talked about and I think that this is the lowest i have felt in a wee while, past couple of days have been hard . Just keep your guard up when the time comes and release the tension and anger in a different way!

I am on my period at the mo, its my first since the quit! I can safely say that my PMS was not worse than any other time... But then again my PMS is pretty hidious at the best of times. The one thing I did do today was completely throw my diet and eat a potion of chips from the chippy... I might regret that later!!!:D

Funny ... I've been laughing as I've read these threads. PMT??? I could happily go out and strangle anyone who gets in my way. It has been (and continues to be) absolutely horrendous. I have suddenly developed tourettes syndrome, will challenge anyone who even slightly irritates me and could literally kill. I could have been frog-marched out of Stansted Airport earlier today as I challenged a security person over the validity of my plastic toiletries bag. Normally I'm so unconfrontational, but the traffic warden who was unfortunate enought to put a ticket on my windscreen on Saturday doesn't know or appreciate that!!! Nicotene withdrawel and PMT is a lethal combination. OMG, you guys don't have a clue

Haha Bandy i can feel your rage, it'ss like a blazing fire lol. PMT really does bring out the spartan l:eek::eek:k out!!!!!!!!!!!!
