Smoked for about 22 years, gave up in 2006 for a year and 3 months, then started again in 2007 - new group of friends that all rolled their own. I almost dared myself to start again, and made the decision to but some tobacco when i was walking a dog on the beach, on my own, so completely my choice.
I later gave up for 4 months, then 3 months, then last time i managed about 9 months off and on, then been smoking again for the last 3 months or so.
I made the decision to quit on the 1st January, even though i wasnt actually ready or even wanted to quit, but i have.
This morning a lay in bed, thinking of getting up, making my coffee, and rolling my cigarette and BANG... realisation that i have now quit - it hit hard!
Anyways, patch on 25mg invisi, and nasal spray at the ready and ive managed the day - more out of stubborness that will.
Just taken patch off, ready for bed soon, so see what day 2 brings me.

They say it takes numerous times of quitting before you finally succeed, so don't worry about your previous attempts at all ( i myself have lost count, think i'm on my 7/8th) the fact is you keep trying and trying
I myself am on the patches too, the invisi ones and i think they are blooming brilliant and highly recommend them!
I found the best way in the morning is too change your routine completely, so instead of waking up and making your coffee that you associate with having a smoke... go to the bathroom first and get dressed or brush your teeth, Just these small changes in routine really help.
another tip is to set your alarm clock an hour before your "real" wake up time, then slap on a patch and go back to sleep for your last hour... that way the patch is working already before you get up.
