It's going really well and I'm feeling very positive and determined. In a bizarre way I'm actually enjoying my daily game of cat and mouse with the cigs. So far I've managed to outsmart them but I know from experience not to drop my guard. I've still got a long way to go but I truly feel I can succeed!
To anyone struggling, please stay strong and do *anything* except use tobacco. It *does* get easier. I didn't believe that either, but it's true. I won't lie and say it's plain sailing all the way, but becoming a non-smoker is an achievable goal if you really want it.
Don't forget, we're all here to offer support and encouragement for the tough times and to share your triumphs. There are no small victories in this fight. One day is just as monumental as one year!
Good luck!

How are you finding the cravings? are they easing up?
Thanks Karen.
I'm finding the cravings are generally just 'there's something missing' now, although occasionally I still get strong ones. I'm finding that the further into my quit I get, the more determined I am not to throw it all away. Being obstinate has its advantages sometimes :D.

Nice one Ed and yes I think it's important to celebrate milestones
Luvin your work hun
Tinks xx
Thanks Tinks. Loving your work too :). You were the first to welcome me here and you're helping so many others. We all appreciate it immensely!!
Congrats! I love the comment about being obstinate - exactly what my mum said to me yesterday, "you are so stubburn you wont smoke now just to prove to everyone!" She also mentioned that she is fairly convinced I actually smoked just to annoy everyone - who moi????

Thanks Joanna. There are times when a little pig-headed obstinance is the only way to go. You stick to that too!!!
Well done Ed!!!!
You are doing amazingly well! I cant believe its already 20 days, it only seem like 2 mins ago we were welcoming you to the forum!
Stay strong, stay stubborn,
Claire.
Thanks Claire. It really doesn't seem like nearly three weeks ago that I tentatively strolled in here. I'm so pleased I found this forum. And I *will* stay strong and stubborn!!
Hi Ed.
Well done I am a day behind you.I don't know if I am happy or sad.I suppose a bit of both.
Sometimes I am so very pleased That I am a non smoker, but don't quite believe it.
If I look back I don't think about cigs so much as the first week.
Stay strong and I hope we are both celebrating a year soon.
terri
I don't think about cigs nearly as much now either Terri. That's got to be a good thing.
You stay strong too and we'll both be in the Penthouse in less than a year!!
Well done Ed, it's a great achievement.
Thanks for all the support you give the rest of us.
I'm trusting you that this gets easier
I'm merely passing on all the fantastic support I've received from others Garry. Share and share alike!! :D. It *does* get easier. You don't really notice it but it does get a little easier each day. Hang in there and you can complete this amazing journey we're all embarking on. You won't want to look back!!
That's amazing ed It's so great to have you on the forum, time has really flown by and it's fantastic to see you so positive still (as you usually are!).

Thanks Sofia :).
The time really has zipped by. Barring one blip so far (that I managed to weather thanks to the great people here!!) I'm really ready and up for this quit. I'm sick and tired of being dictated to by those little tubes I used to regard as friends. They're very firmly the enemy and will be eliminated despite all their little tricks.
