Every quit seems different. I've been stopping and starting since January. On some quits I feel physically ok but mentally crap and on other quits it's the other way around.
I lost a 21 day quit because I was on holiday and couldn't get onto the internet for my daily forum fix. I smoked for a week (which by the way was horrible - felt really ill) and then quit again. This time I'm on day 14. Maybe it's because this time I'm sure it's the LAST TIME but I've been feeling really unwell. I think my irritable bowel syndrome has flared up again. I've just eaten a large bowl of porridge - which should have some effect on the situation.
Anyway. Just wanted to moan really. This too shall pass......

Moan away I'm not much of an authority on IBS but have just been reading how smoking can aggravate it so that's a good reason to stay off the ciggies. Sorry you're not feeling too great at the moment and hopefully it will pass soon but congratulations on your 2 weeks quit
Hi Sue, good luck with this quit, sorry you're not feeling great. Pookies absolutely right about the smoking and IBS, also stress doesn't do it much good. I think our systems take a little while to adjust to any changes we make. I suffer now after drinking a few glasses of wine, and I used to drink wine all the time and in much larger amount. Hang in there and give your system a bit of time to adjust to the lack of chemicals and stimulants etc. Hope the porridge sorts you out,
Hi Sue, I also think your IBS will settle after a while, some people get it when they quit and that is put down to the stress and the change of eating habits, porridge is brill and if you eat it every day the same as I do now it makes you feel satisfied and you tend not to eat to much, er in theory that is, time is the thing and the longer you stay quit the better you will feel, promise x
