Four months today and it's easy to become complacent so I had my latest health check to see if giving up smoking had made a difference to my ongoing cholesterol issues.
Great news - my cholesterol has gone from 8.6 to 4.6 in four months. After two years of low to no fat diet, giving up drinking the only thing left was to give up the ciggies and that's what's made the difference. Oh and probably the fact that I can now do an hour on the cross trainer without wanting to die!
It's made me truly realise that giving the smoking up was the right thing. Yes it's still tough but what would be tougher would be to have another heart attack!
