Can I share my news?

Hi guys

I just wanted to share my news if that is OK?

I have just come back from physio and I am feeling great for once

2 years ago (yesterday) I broke my leg in 3 places and messed up my ligaments, tendons and more importantly my circulation in that leg. Both my consultant and physio have nagged at me to quit smoking as this was not helping the situation and today I told them I had!!!! What’s more the circulation is slowly improving.

Still set off the detectors when I go through security at the airports though :D

Thanks Chrissie - you always say the right thing :)

    Day 50 tomorrow - I can't believe it!

The pain is bearable now thank goodness and I don’t need my crutches.

It is so nice to not feel guilty when I go to the hospital – I go every 2 weeks so that is a lot of guilt :D

  • Ouch!! That looks SORE! (how did you manage to do that?) Very pleased for you that things are improving x

    Thanks Fiona

I fell down my back door steps - only 3 of them! I was taking a tray of plants out to my garden and I didn't let go of the tray as I fell

  • I'm not surprised you set off the detectors/sensors at the airport, i think you've got half the screw-fix catalogue in that there ankle :)

What is incredible is that we humans stupidly protect the most silly of items in our hands when we stumble.. We are exceptionally skilled at ensuring not a drop of coffee gets spilt too when we go like this :)

but ouchhh a tray of plants? a what? £5 tray ?? for the damage it caused :( ???

You've done right to quit smoking though regardless of the main reasons, the benefits you will experience will by far outweigh any negatives i'm certain.

    poor you!!!!

  • Thanks Chrissie - sounds like that is just what I need.

As for bradders - don't leave him in there for too long - he could end up all shrivelled

I know Jase - my OH goes through first and says "I'll get the coffees in" cos he knows they are going to search me :D

And yes the plants only cost £9.99, but they were from the Himalayas!!! Despite my best efforts when I got out of hospital - they died :(

  • I have taken a tumble before whilst holding my daughter and kept hold of her, but never plants! And how sad that after all that they died :(.

  • Hey Steph

Proper war wound that .... well done on your fifty days as well big pats on the back to you ....:)

  • Twilight Zone

Thanks bradders - can't believe I had it in me :D

Looking forward to my next milestone on the 24th - 2 months (ironically same date as my x-ray!) Could this be an omen???????

  • Hi Steph well done 50 Days and I bet they were so pleased at the hospital, if you stand next to the fire do the screws get hot??? justb a thought which I want take any further LOL
