Hi, I'm new here and just wanted to share my day 1 and hopefully get some input from you all in terms of what to expect. I stopped today with patches for the first time having smoked 20 a day for 9 years. Day 1 has been ok
Put on a patch last night before bed, slept about 1.5 hours (if I'm lucky!!), not sure if the patch was to blame or not, but shattered today!
Woke up this morning and was ok, normally light up as soon as I get out of bed, but managed not to. Work was ok, there were a few hairy moments when the cravings were tough but have just been chewing on normal gum (not NRT gum) and trying not to cave in.
After work and coming home in the evening has been the hardest. But I've not caved in yet.
This is my first time trying to quit and I'm not sure what to expect so if any of you would be kind enough to share your experiences and let me know what I should expect, I'd really appreciate it.
M xx

Thanks! Same to you!! Which of the initial days did you find the hardest or was it quite even? Today has been tough but I have to admit, I was expecting it to be worse... I'm just worried now that the worst is yet to come! All the best with your own experience! Deal, I'll race you!
Oooh... my day one starts wednesday, i would love to hear how you get on.
( If this helps, i gave up before & i can honestly say after 1 week i was so not interested.) Shame i started again  but this time i'm 100% sure i want to do this.
