I would like to wish the folk who are here with the hope to quit smoking/nicotine addiction the very very best of luck. I would dearly love to have stayed to help in that endeavour, but i would not want my efforts to help folk to be misconstrued and used by certain forum users in the vile manner in which the final post in the above link scraped the barrel to say.
I've no idea how long my break away will be.. all i know is, its what i wish to do. i'm still quit from smoking.. no blips, not even held a cigarette in my hand.. and next week i'm @ 8 months, i wish to keep it that way.
Good luck everyone, i hope the forum doesn't sink to the chaos i've seen of late for too long.

It's forum rubbish goes on everywhere ignore it happens everywhere, the person who quoted me obviously thinks quite highly of himself to think i was talking about him, no let me re-phrase he must think he is one of the invisible plebs i was talking about for him to draw attention to it ....
What's the point in leaving a forum that has done so much for you and you for the fellow quitters?, whats the point in anyone leaving it ?... stick around may as well you have come this far in your quit, Mods will deal with anything out of hand the rest just laugh at.
This is a very sad day for me Jase and I so wish you weren't going
I understand your reasons for doing this hun but it does make me so sad that we're losing another great supporter because of a few idiots we unfortunately have to put up with as nothing is done to stop them
It seems the Mods can't and NSD won't do anything to stop it though meanwhile we continue to lose decent supporters on here
Keep in touch Jase please I'd like to know how you're getting on I'm wondering who will be the next to go though

Well I am going to have my two peneth whether some like it or not., only having been on the forum for 9 weeks in some members eyes I am not worthy of an opinion but then why should I take notice of someone who is so bitter and twisted that they see themselves as superior in all things which is quite sad as not only are they not remotely superior they are infinitely inferior as they prove by their snide remarks and their inability to live and let live.
They also prove that they must spend all their time checking out the threads and that they are so paranoid that every comment they read they imagine to be about themselves and no one else.
I have found this forum to be a great benefit to my quit and I am seeing that a lot of the good supporters are now leaving which means the ones that are left will be the least caring and unsupportive who only want the forum for themselves.
Oh what a shame to see some of the best leaving it’s so sad, come back and let us stick together and ignore the rest of them and leave them to live in their little insular worlds, oh sorry I keep forgetting it’s us that live in never never land.
I hope that the Mods who do a great job have the wisdom to see what is happening and put a stop to it before there is only a shell of a site left which will be of no use to the ones requiring help in there quits.

Crikey. This is a hard one as far as loyalties go. Jase you are a terrific supporter of people and someone ive come to really admire and like over the months ive known you. You are Mr Sensible with an occasional blast of naughty and I for one enjoy your posts and respect and take on board what you write. For you to take a break will leave a gap in the forum that will be difficult to fill, but taking a break is taking a break and you and I have discussed this, I get where you are coming from.
Cav. You have become someone I also truly like. You too support and I find your posts keep me going on dull days. You've always stuck up for me and provide me with an intelligent conversation full of wit.
I cant go against either of you apart from to say this: Ive had issues about one person causing trouble in the background for a while. A little pick here, a jab there, then duck and dive back into the background or go shouting for the mods. Catwoman I think was out of order, but there is much going on the background that no one can see which has contributed to this backlash. No ones after jamangie. I dont see anyone saying you are not worthy of an opinion. Bradders is right. If you dont like it, ignore it. You guys gave me some terrific advice last week and I took a deep breath and followed it. Lets not fight anymore x

Jase, I've enjoyed your posts in my short time here - from what I can see,you always offer good advice and are never patronising.
I've caught the tail end of some pretty tetchy posts, and it's saddened me. Best not to get involved at all, but I understand that emotions run high and comments can be taken personally.

Seriously, bladders, why would you make such assumptions? I see only a few who are da da da DA DA becoming forum jokes. I am glad it takes so little to amuse you but having a go at a member who has dedicated tons of his time helping other quitters and one who is so obviously intellectually superior to you.... well, tut.

Just a note to say thanks Jase..... you've always had kind and helpful words for me. You have to come back though I believe I'll be one of the first yanks to make it in to the Penthouse and I''d like you to be around. One strange thing I've found being a part of this site is that when I first signed up I was not paying attention, I was 15 or so days into my quit and googled who knows what for a site to help. Well I found this one and it took my slow butt 3 or 4 days to realize I was on a site from the UK. I then took time to find some American sites and signed up for some of those. For whatever reason this site works for me and I've made friends with some and come to find comfort in just reading others posts as well. Anyway to the point your one of the people on this site that helps make it what it is and it would be a loss for a lot of people if you didn't decide to come back so I hope to see you back soon. As to the bickering in my opinion its time to move on, I have not read or tryed to follow any of the drama, forms tend to blow up on occasion and the reasons can be many things. This site needs to continue what it does and the people involved in the site need to continue to do their best.

Lol...I've not seen or heard a comment like that since I was 11 years old. Didn't worry me then and certainly not now.
This current issue with the Forum - yes, Fiona got it right to a certain extent, there is a member who for the most part pops in snipes away at various members and then departs...but not too far. You can usually spot her carp on members' home page in conversation. Now, bradders, there's some stuff much more worthy for a good laugh...childish too...ideal.
However, it's not just the above mentioned person carrying on across the boards and in members' home pages. Recently I and a couple of good friends were accused of being similar to Irish Bombers. Didn't matter that the poster didn't have a clear memory about the Bombers, nor that she didn't appreciate that those particular Bombers where fitted up. But I certainly do take offence when equated to such diabolical criminal behaviour. Rather than clear this issue on the boards I chose to PM thinking that would be the best method and preferable to stirring things on the boards. But instead the accusation then came that I was writing poison pen letters. I know the definition of what a poison pen letter is and if my PM was remotely like that then I assume I would have been banned. Guess what....didn't happen. And for the hard of thinking I'll explain that there wasn't any poison pen letter written by me.
But the gossip was spread around...not only was I on the level of Irish Bombers but also writing poison pen letters. Absolute rubbish!!!
Then we get this current situation. Why shouldn't I stand up for myself? Defend myself against a few members who are deeply mired in childish antics and try to control the Forum. Afterall, I've seen and tried to act decently and that didn't help one bit.
Now, you folk, and you know who you are, if you wish to continue to snipe, make allegations, make childish remarks...then don't be surprised if others will defend themselves. But believe me I would rather be having fun on the General section, googling and pasting (thank you bradders...that's the fundament of those threads) and having a laugh. Plus going into the quitting sections and supporting members.
Oh, a postscript...Catwoman has more integrity in her little finger than some here. I'm proud to call her friend...and what's more I'm more than a little bit envious of her graphically clear style of posting.
