Welcome and well done stopping smoking.

Have a look around here you will find lots of people at the same stage as you, it helps to hear how they are feeling so you know you are not alone. You can also take a look further ahead to see people who have managed to stay stopped and that shows you that you can definitely do it. There are some really good websites in our signatures which give loads of info about what happens to our minds and bodies when we stop smoking. Read as much as you can as often as you can that's how we managed to stay stopped.

Hiya Mary

Good advice from Jackie, lots of people suggest reading as much as you can, it worked for them, why not you. You're doing well, 13th day, get this weekend over and you'll be well on the way to your first month. You don't say if you're using anything or going cold turkey, doesn't really matter, but, someone could be in exactly the same position. Keep posting, edpecially while struggling. David

Hi Mary :)

WOW day 13 is great so 2 weeks tomorrow well done Big Hug on it's way

At almost the two weeks you're doing really well but I'm so sorry you're struggling today hun

Just hang on and get through today anyway you can I promise it does get easier the further you go along this sometimes bumpy road to freedom

When I got the craves I always found water, keeping busy and posting on here a huge help some how just talking about how we feel seems to help and of course the help we get from others is alwasys valuable because now matter how far ahead they are they too were once where you are now OK

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quitting whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Love

Marg

thanks everyone!!! still getting through today but been reaaalllllly hard no point in telling porkies xx no i didn't say what i was using to quit with did i, im using the clear 24 hr patches plus the inhalette not using so much of that now tho... the bad dreams are just startings to kick in now had quite a nasty one last night, but im working though those, i think the main problem is im worried about my dad maybe a little which is why im a bit rocky today, he has had many test done showing all different thing but nothing yet conclusive but he had to have a biopsy on his lung done on friday last week, so it don't take much to work out what they may find, he has smoked for must be 60 years. get the results for that on monday hopefully!!! but im keeping my focus on my own reasons for quitting, my own health and that of my children, nothing like throwing everything at once tho is there lol
