OR did you all know what was going to happen?
After a positive morning things went from good to bad anyway at 11.30pm last night i ended up lighting up two puffs and out it went i felt and still do awful i couldnt smoke it because i didnt and dont want to smoke it didnt make me feel better and i knew it wouldnt make the wrongs right so why did i do it.? i'm a nicotine addict this is the longest ive ever gone in 30 years without smoking i waas the person every one would ask where the smoking areas was always had my fags at my side panicked if i didnt have at least two extra packs in the house..
I'm proud of how far ive come not really using the inhalator because it made my mouth sore just the occasional puff now and then and reading as much as i can on here as got me through some bad time but not sure if its enough now maybe i should go and see my doctor..
And now i dont no where i am Day 1 or Day 22 confused and replies would be very much appreciated......lol

That's an absolute bummer on 2 accounts. 1 not getting any replies yesterday and 2 because of the blip/s. The combined active membership do try to get to everyone and post supportively. However, there are a large contingent of guests that look in and that I suspect is why you got a lot of views. If any of the views were by an active member then you would have been supported...promise.
That aside, what a dolt for having a smoke last night....tut. But more to the point, hope that you are feeling better today and not overly dissappointed. We are just learning lessons until we finally get our heads straight. How many smokes did you have last night? How do you feel today? Did the smokes sort out any burning issues for you (no pun intended)?
If you only had a couple of smokes you could put the experience down to a blip and continue with marching into week 4.
Neddy - that's aweful not getting any comments on achieving 21 days. Think (and hope) Cav is correct. My experience is that anytime I declare a milestone (or moan or anything else), people do respond. So, a belated WELL DONE YOU.
As for your blip - your call on whether day 1 or 21. What's really good is you recognising straight away that you've stopped that habit and you've come back here.

I am so sorry I didn't see your post yesterday or I would have at least responded with a well done you I can only apologise for me not seeing it I try hard not to miss anyone out but inevitably it soes happen at times
I'm also sorry that after a good start your day went so wrong for you last night and you had a little blip and had 2 puffs on a fag
I don't think you're a dolt as Cav has said at all you've done well getting to 21 days I personally think that just 2 puffs doesn't count in the scheme of things here
Yes you had a couple of puffs but look at it another way how many have you not smoked in the last 3 weeks eh Depending on how you feel about it I would just carry on and call today 22 days smokefree
Many on here have had more than that and carried and in some cases more than once have they slipped and continued as if nothing has happened

Ned, I had almost exactly the same thing on the Saturday night of my "week 4". I found an old ciggy lying round and had a couple of puffs.
I think the consensus round here is that you can have one "blip" as long as it's not really smoking again (sounds like you didn't really smoke). So long as you didn't rocket through a 10 pack, I think you should let yourself off.
Sorry about your post yesterday. You have had a blip but you are up and off again today, thats brilliant. Perhaps some more reading would help, it's what helps us stay stopped.

As far as where to go, day 1 or 22, I think only you can make that decision. You didn't enjoy it, after 2 puffs it went out and you wish you hadn't done it, doesn't sound as though its dented your quit much does it?
Don't let a moment like this eat you up, move forward and take something from it to reinforce your feeling about smoking
Chuck those smokes out of the house and get on with the great job you were doing. See you in Month 1 soon!

Be proud that you did not treat it as a fail and just go out and buy some ciggys.

I had a dream the other night that I smoked a cigarette and was really pissed because I felt I had to go back to day one again. I hold onto that everyday because it gets me through. If I have one puff, I will make myself go back to day one and that will really bum me out. That is my belief and it applies to ME.
You have to do what is right for you.
If keepin on, keeps YOU going, then do it!!!!!
