Hiya Everyone.

My dad used to be a member on here and he pointed me here!

Today is my first day non-smoking, and so far, even though its 10am, im finding it incredibly hard!!

I would have had about 4 by now.

I got the inhalator, and its frustrating me more than helping me i feel. But will give it a couple of days.

Just thought id say hi :)

Elli

Hi and welcome. I am not getting involved in your domestic!

Day 1, fantastic the first day of the rest of your life well done on making the best choice you will ever make.

Hopefully your dad has told you that reading the links is key to this quitting lark, lots of reading will really help you get your head in the right place.

Sounds like you are already planning to fail, don't think like that or you will fail.

Lots of people will be along shortly with great advice and help, stay strong, you are so worth it.

hi there

This is the place to be...Elli

Keep posting...It really helps!

I went 3 weeks and 3 day...until last night when I had a few dirty smokes and they weren't good and I feel rubbish today.

When you don't smoke and then go back it really highlights how terrible they taste and how rough they make you feel.

Can't wait to get back to 3 weeks smoke free it was so nice and worth every tough moment. We are addicted and to get out of the trap we have to fight and enjoy not being a smoker.

Make sure you read up about niccotine addiction. How did we all end up getting into this.

We can do it together:)

I’m really glad that you’ve quit

Cause in the past you’ve smoked some sh**

Smelly Hair Hands and Breath

Shorter Life but longer Death

Up the hills you’ve got no puff

Smokers cough that makes you rough

So pass each day without the weed

Cause only then will you succeed

So Bravo to all that now don’t smoke

Cause early Death is sure no Joke

Sounds a little grusome I know but ITS TRUE

Welcome and well done stopping smoking. So it's a family affair then, well if Dad hasn't told you all about reading and learning all about the addiction to nicotine we sure will. Changing how you see smoking is the way to stop seeing it as something you are giving up and rather something you no longer want to be part of.

Wishing you every success.

Jackie

Well done on day 1 Elli, and good luck. Post often, there's lot's of good advice and kind words. Take it a day at a time and don't worry about the odd down day, we all get them, and we all got them when we smoked, it's just a different way of dealing with it.

Wishing you every success,

Lorraine :)

Good luck Elli, it really is the best thing you'll ever do for yourself.

Know people who've treated themselves with the fag spends.

Personally I always made myself a cake.

Some have taken up a new hobbie, would suggest getting some exercise too.

Have a think about how you're going to mark you sucesses, first day, first week etc etc.

Hi Elli :)

Well done for stopping smoking I'm sorry your day 1 is so hard for you though

So you're following in Dads footsteps eh well done I followed my Sons footsteps to here and a smoke free life

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quitting whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Love

Marg

Just for Eli

Ellie gave up smoking and now she smells so sweet

She can spend the money that she saved to buy herself a treat

It might be something pretty a dress a skirt or coat

And if you go on longer you could go buy yourself a boat

You realy will feel the difference you lungs will feel so fresh

And now when you start running you want run out of breath

Keep on being a quitter and posting on this site

And every one on smoke free will always put you right xx
