Hi Angelina :)

Well done deciding to stp[ smoking and pleased to hear you're feeling positive

Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

This link is good for the psychological part of quittingwhyquit.com/whyquit/A_Sympt...

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here

Love

Marg xx

Hi Angelina,

I found it helpful to be-friend (whether they liked it or not!) people on the same quit day as me. There's a couple of people on Day 1 today and it's good to team together and follow progress as you go along.

Understanding the psychology of smoking is key and I found the Whyquit forum invaluable. Margareth posted the link.

Thanks I think I'll do that. It'll be good to have other people who are at the exact same stage as me and compare how we're coping.

I'm just reading the WhyQuit website! Really frightening stories on it  Really brings it home!

Oh yeh, it scares the cr*p out of me.

I've advanced onto watching video's (not nice ones on You Tube).

That's why I've made it to Day 20!

Clare Bear is on Day 1 too today (we work together) and she's been on Why Quit all day and coming over to my desk saying "Oh my God!"

Welcome

Hi Angelina,

Welcome to the forum. I am on day 22 and have found it a brilliant quit buddy.

The reading is a brilliant help too. Make sure you read up lots about the addiction and the tips and effects areas here too. I found reading posts from the people a few weeks ahead helpful as you know what to expect.

One of the most inspiring was reading the posts of people who had made it to a year. Made me blub lol!

Stay strong and you can do it!

Well done Angelina on deciding to quit. You'll find loads of help here, every body had a different experience, but there will always be something in someones post that you can relate to.

Don't let any scary tales put you off, it's a great thing you're doing. Take it day by day, read lot's, and the time will fly.

Good luck,

Lorraine :)

Hi Angelina and welcome, you are about to do the best thing in your life you could ever do for yourself. Well done on your decision to quit.

Reading this thread may help you;

But also read as much as you can. I must be honest and say I have not read all this thread so there are probably lots of others saying read, read and read.

Go for it girl.
