Good luck! You CAN do it this time!
Champix will make it so much easier for you, but please do read as much as possible - understanding WHY you smoked in the first place, is the key to never having another puff
Hi Fairywings
I'm now on day three with Champix and I have also read the easyway by Allan carr. I found this forum yesterday and I have to say it's great. I'm thinking of putting it down as one of my ways of stopping.
Stay positive and read read read about others experiences. It's working for me so far.
Good luck, you can do it.

Do save the money, but put it in a savings account to get some extra goodies from it.
I found that my internet banking allowed me to make a daily transfer, manually to my savings account.
I found that worked for me since I could always log in and see it whenever I was at work...
Best of luck
It's great to see all the Mayday quitters!
You can do it. It does get easier. There's lots on here to help.
100% with you,
Bill

From someone that has been through the main quit and still in the zone i will be there for you.
the keys to freedom are:
knowledge - click my links, read and understand your enemy.
preparation - know and understand what your body will go through that way you will not be surprised by cravings or feelings on your quit, use links to find out more.
anaaaalysis - do not over anaaaalyse your quit or jump ahead of yourself worrying about tomorrow, next week or next month. be in the 'now' live and get through each and every moment bit by bit, minute by minute, soon you will be free but it happens in stages over time. Most quitters say the first 3 days feels like 3 weeks.
willpower - be strong, do not smoke, the pain is not physical and the cravings will diminish more each day.
May Day Quitters, thanks for everyones support today.
Hi Everyone,
Day one today - and my first post here. Doin' peachy keen so far. I expect it will be much more difficult when I get home from work and want to unwind from the day.
A bike ride, bubble bath and meditation are on the agenda. I figure if I can keep myself grounded in the present moment - and know that I really do not *need* a cigarette - I will be okay.
Beltane Blessings to all,
Maedchen
Hi Maedchen. Welcome, I am on day 1, aswell, are you joining the May Day Quitters. I think there will be three of us then. Not been to bad today.
Thank you for the welcomes and the advice fairywings and johntkd! I am definitely joining the May Day Quitters! It's time - and I am more than ready.
I agree wholeheartedly with AntiFag's advice about living in the present moment - the NOW is the only thing one has control over.
Feen Maedchen is German for "Fairy Girl."
Maedchen - welcome to the mad-house that is this forum...
I second all the advice that's been proffered by the others
Stay strong and good luck...

Antifag
FFkn hell I think that is the best, most succinct post i have EVER seen on the requirements for quitting.
to all newbies: the advive from Antifag above is Totallyb correct. To help with your quit follow it.
the most successful stoppers on here have whether consciously or subconsciously.
Oh and Feen Maedchen (is that gaelic (and Erse no less) what does it mean?) good luck with your quit.
Thanks John.
Yes I think those 4 points are definitely the most important. It is something that is repeeated again and again by people on this site and others.
Well good luck with it all. I'm sussing out wasy of helping ppl quit and i think following your progress will be good. Keep it up
