I'm on day two and am suprised at how easy it has been. I tried to stop before and had a hellish time of it which put me off giving up for ages, until I heard about champix and decided to give it a try. I still have cravings but am managing to get through them, I think champix takes the edge of them a little. I'm waiting for the withdrawal symptoms to get worse but I think I have the strength to get through it.

Day 2 already well done. Don't know much about the champix stuff, but I do not that it has helped loads of people around here quit the nicotine so that has to be good.
Glad you are feeling strong but be prepared to have good days and bad days. Feel free to come here often, it is a great place to get support and help.
Welcome too. Like Bev I've no first hand experience of Champix. But there are many here that have and if you have questions concerning that the forum could provide them. Some new champix users do complain about feeling sick. Seems that comes down to whether you eat before taking the tab.
Take some time to get to know the forum and look for any advice you may be interested in. Chances are it will be here. If it's not too recent then ask away and someone will fill in.
Thanks folks. I have tried cold turkey and patches neither of which worked. I haven't been sick on champix yet, and am on the highest dose and am now on day 20 of it. I find it helps with the withdrawal symptoms, although I have cravings and feelings of emptiness, I don't find these agonising or unbearable which was how I felt when I went cold turkey and even when I was on the patches. The thing I especially like about it is that it doesn't have nicotine in it. I don't like the idea of carrying on taking the substance I am already addicted to, as I could see myself still being dependent on the patches for ages after I quit. Still they definitely work for some people I guess.
I used champix with no problems and had v ery few big craves at all which is the best thing of all in my opinion
The withdrawal symptoms shouldn't get worse with champix but you need top read and educate yourself
