Im having a few serious relationship problems and although im in no way tempted to go buy some, I won't deny that I quite fancy one right now.
However, upto this recent event, i've not wanted one for ages.
I would say that its only the down time that I ever fancy one, and when I say down time, im talking the loss of my business and possibly the breakup of my marriage. Im the one whos instigated this, and im not looking for marital advice or sympathy, lol, so please don't post it :-). Im just keeping a journal of what makes me want a ciggie, and I think my "downtimes" are quite big as opposed to feeling fed up because my team lost or something trivial like that, which doesent make me want a fag.
Apart from these 2 big possible changes to my life, im always an upbeat person usually, so on the whole, I havent fancied a fag in ages.
If we do seperate, im determined to stay focused and not be weak and go and buy them fags, because we all know where that leads to, and we all know that as someone with an addiciton problem can never have another one of them!
Anyway, I would say to any people reading this who are giving up, its excellent benig a non-smoker, and its been pretty plain sailing. I just wanted to post the fact that its only major, major events that ever make me want a fag, and its a test that I have to pass, and my life is far better without them!

put simply though? this is you dealing with normal life stresses as a non-smoker. Another challenge of a quit is learning to deal with these real life stresses without pondering them with a smoke in your hand.. been doing much the same myself in recent month or so.. you do cope though and i'm certain you will too. All part of the quit I guess, and its what makes these quits personal to us .. real life deals us the extra thing to cope with.
Well, anyway.. hope you find the balance you need.
(non of that was sympathy or marriage guideance.. hope it passes as a suitable reply to your post m8y )
Sorry to hear about your relationship problems and the loss of business, too, Amsie.... those are huge triggers and I'm not surprised you think of fags in response..... I'm the same way, actually most of us would feel exactly how you describe.
I want to say something brilliant and uplifting but you know what to do....... don't smoke. Craves are often triggered by 'big' events (luckily they pass quickly, too). Don't ever be fooled into giving into them though, okay! All you'd ever gain is your addiction back which you'd have to feed all day, every day.... you'd lose your freedom and all your personal problems would still be there, too. You'll manage your situation way better if you don't have an addiction to worry about on top of it all! Hope things work out for you, I really do. xx
