stress.. STress and STRESS

GAAAAAAAH. Am having a bad day as you can probably tell. Seems that there's always somebody/something wanting something from me and I just feel at the moment that there's nothing I can give them. Am on my third day without a patch (26th day quit) so I know that the nicotine is still just leaving my system. I should remember that I didn't handle the stress very well even when I was smoking.. can't wait to get to the inner calm bit of my quit :(

Breathe ... breathe... breathe .... and imagine smacking the annoying people one right between the eyes. It WILL get easier, hang on in there!

Really deep breaths

It works for me, use that too when a crave hit or even now when the idea of a cigarette enters my head.

Hiya you two. Well that awful day is over thanks for the help. I did a lot of breathing and imagined battering them all. This morning I woke up feeling a lot more positive cos at some point during the wee hours I woke up and thought 'I don't have nicotine in my body and it's not controlling me anymore' then...

I had a nightmare that I got a fag out of my packet and was going to light it but then couldn't find my lighter then in my dream I went to some restaurant or something and told my friend there that I couldn't believe I was going to light up because I'd quit smoking  Remember how the panic would set in if you had cigarettes but no lighter? Isn't it nice that we don't have to worry about that ever again? what a stupid thing to worry about.

* I quit smoking on Wednesday 10th of June 2009 at 04:00 PM and have been free for 26 days, 18 hours and 12 minutes. I have not smoked 535 cancer-sticks and have saved 101.65 euro as well as gaining 98 hours of life. *

oh yes the nightmares!

I too have found a lot of help from deep breathing. When it was first suggested to me I thought it was rediclulous....I felt like how could it be a substitute for an actual smoke. Once I tried it I was converted!

I remember in my past quits about 4 months along having dreams about being out somewhere and I was smoking....I would always wake up being so relieved it was only a dream! I am detremined to keep such an action confined to my dreams for the remainder of my existence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yahhh breathing is really good for getting over craves. I did 'hit breathing' (if you know what I mean) and that got me through the craves but also once my sense of smell came back I started taking deep breaths whenever I'm on my scooter so I can smell the earth and flowers and I don't ever want to lose my sense of smell again.

I had another dream last night that my auntie asked me to light a cigarette for her and my nana was there saying 'look you can see she really wants that cigarette' but I held my breath in the dream :D funny cos I'm hardly even thinking about cigarettes now but they're in my sub-concious obviously
