Still hanging in there

One day, 13 hours, 42 minutes and 40 seconds.

Well I am still here and still feel quite good. Quite a bit of "that gnawing feeling" this morning but I am working my way through it. I know it is just my body looking for a nicotine top up but I also know I really really don't want a ciggarette, so that will be that.:p

Hi Freespirit,

Keep hanging in there. Second day can be pretty tough, but an hour at a time - a minute at a time if need be - you will get through it. Keep strong.

Thanks Deke,

I am working my way through it. The feeling is more annoying than anything else and is almost constant but since I know what it is, that makes it a bit easier to handle - all just part of the process. Feeling positive.

Hi Everyone ! Ive just joined this forum - its Saturday night - nearly midnight, I started Champix a week ago and the last cigarette I have smoked was dinnertime Friday - doing ok but there are really strong urges to have a cigarette !! I feel like Ive a devil on one shoulder saying 'go one have one' - and an angel on the other side saying 'why undo all the good so far', I had expected these cravings but what has surprised me is the fact you have to be tough and strong of mind to give up too. Anyway, I feel better that Ive put it down in writing, thanks for reading XX ;)

Welcome to this site and well done on your decision to stop.

I too stopped using champix but smoked for 2 weeks before giving up, I think they are great but I do need a lot of determination and will power, champix seems to take the edge off the cravings tho, so good luck and keep posting, this site and all the guys will help enourmously xxx

Hi Kate, thanx for your response - so far so good ! Am I right in thinking you continue with Champix for a few weeks after quitting ? So if you fall - and have a puff or a cig its not too big a deal as your still taking the tablets ?

Hi Marni,

Yes, just keep going with the tabs it's noramlly a 12 wweek course, even if you fall (but don't) you still keep taking the tabs.

Don't think negatively... think positively.....your NOT going to fall and have a fag - you are now a NON SMOKER - keep thinking that and you'll be fine and don't stash any fags in the house, that's too much of a temptation.

If you feel really bad and want a puff come on here and start a thread, then wait for 10 replies before doing anything, it works....by the time you get 10 answers the crave has gone..xxxxx
