I think the more important thing is not smoking for now, and all the positives you are going to gain from it. Your weight you can worry about at a later date, i don't mean to sound insensitive. I personally think if you can quit smoking you can pretty much do anything! One thing at a time.

Hi Free3 :D

62 days quit that's really great well done

I agree with Dan one battle at a time OK

I also put on quite a bit of weight, but it's now beginning to settle and I've even lost a bit this last 2/3 weeks

I found I steadied it by eating lots of fruit and raw veggies when I got the munchies

Love

Well done on getting to Month 3.

I soooooo know how you are feeling about the weight. I have gone up a dress size so I am not happy.

Although, I am looking at what others have said, sort the smokes out and then the weight. I always felt a fraud when trying to keep fit in the past because I smoked. I am looking forward to it this time but just need to concentrate on the not smoking for the time being.

We should have a separate forum for weight loss!!!!

Yup me too.... thought I was safe because the first month I was so upset I hardly ate..... ahhh but then it began..... no wonder.... .pounds and pounds of gummy bears must end up somewhere..... jeans are way too tight :D BUT I have finally been able to say good bye to evil gummy bears..... and maybe some exercise  is next..... Shabba mentioned that around month 5 she was able to get back to her normal weight..... so you guys, be patient and don't stress over this weight thing..... if you stay healthy all will go back to normal weight!

Congratulations!

Seriously, don't worry about the weight.

Most people find that their apetite and digestion all settle down after a few months and everything starts to return to normal all by itself.

Your body is a wonderful thing and will sort itself out provided you are relatively sensible about what you eat and how much.

I put on 3 stone (yes, really!) in the first 5 months. Then my appetite calmed down and I have since settled to a reasonable weight for me.

I was 10st (very underwieght for me, because I am of muscular build) when I was smoking and went to 13. I have since settled to 12 without doing anything and look and feel much fitter than ever before.

I have done nothing to encourage any weight loss.

Even if you are one of those that need to work at losing it after quitting, it is going to be so much easier to excercise now - and so much fun!

Besides all of that, carrying a bit of extra wieght is so much better than smoking!
