:) Hi all,

52 days today and no fags.....stopped on 22nd Feb. I used a patch for one day and then went cold turkey...

I must say it has been much easier than I predicted...obviously the first 2 weeks were the hardest but after that it has been fine.I had smoked 30 a day for over 20 years....

I can,t tell you how great I feel!!...my breathing has gone back to normal,I dont cough or wheeze anymore,I have put weight on becuse food taste so good, I now eat alot of sweet stuff, is that normal?.I know thats bad for me but I would rather be fat than a smoker.

I know I will put weight on for the first year but they say that after one tear you lose it again.

Now if a smoker sits next to me I can smell them, it disgusting, I live with 2 smokers and I try to stay away from any passive smoke. Its difficult.

I now sleep with all my bedroom windows open, I have done for the last 50 days. When they light up I move out the room, and I try to make sure that my clothes are away from the smoke.I spend more time going out now just to get away from the smoke.Thank god all public places are smoke free.

Anyway, well done to all of us for giving this sick addiction up...

Take care

Kickkick

Well done for 52 days! I find it frustrating that even though I am not controlled personally by the nicotine anymore, I still am, in a round about way. Husband still smokes and along with the health and smell issues I still find myself waiting in the car, or waiting before a journey can begin, or having to endure another diversion on a journey to get some smokes, making us late or just inconvenienced. I can't force him to quit, but until he does I am still in a kind of nicoprison. Anyway. Its all good to see another one jump over the 50 day mark!
