Well done to you guys, you both sound very positive. Just keep in your head that you have not given anything up, you have gained a whole lovely new life where you are choosing not to smoke. xx

LOL about the taste issues. I used to like Madras/vindaloo curries but at the moment they are too hot for me :D AMAZING how quick it all happens.

Hi Slinky

I see from your signature you read the Allen Carrs EasyWay to Quit Book. I read it after my last failed attempt and I cant believe how it manages to change your views. The only thing I am doing differently is using patches which I think he doesnt approve of but hey ho if it works why not. At the moment I can honestly say its the best £8.99 I have ever spent. I was going to book myself into one of his clinics but so far I feel confident enough not to bother. As far as currys go even mild ones were too hot for me when I was smoking. Since I have stopped potato wedges seem to blow my taste buds into meltdown.

OMG hahaha that about the potato wedges had me in stitches :D thanks for that.

Yes, I read the Allen Carr book. I must confess that I gave up for a week last year ( October ) by reading this book. After a week I had the " I'll just have one puff " :( what a Div I was for doing that!!! I wouldn't even say I needed one... I cannot tell you what made me do it! It embarrasses me to say that :(

But here I am again, but I'm wiser this time.... there can never be 1 puff..1 cig..1 pack..... cos it adds up to the next 1000 :-((

Oh and about the patches.. you do what's best for you. Only you knows what is best for you.. no one else!! you're doing brilll the way you're doing it, keep up the good work :D

Even though the book has helped you, don't let it take all the credit!! your own determination and willpower have done their job too.

I have read the book from front to back. I also find, when I am having a particular day where i'm thinking about cigs more than usual, I just start reading it from the start again, usually when I go to bed at night... just read a few chapters before sleep. I dunno if it helps, but it seems to and anything that eases me through this is worth a try :D so give that a try if it ever gets a bit IFFY ;) surely can't do you any harm.

Well done all of you, you all sound very strong and positive. Keep up the good work, keep smiling and keep calm. I also read Mr.Carr's stop smoking book about a year ago, and gave up for 8 days, but fell for the oldest trick in the book and had 'just the one to see what it was like', as if I didn't know after 20 years of smoking!:o

Best of luck to you all, you should feel very proud.

I also read Alan Carrs Easyway the last time I tried quitting, whilst reading it I was very positive but after I stopped smoking for a few days I also (like others) had the "oh 1 puff wont hurt" HA! I now know better.

Best of luck to everyone, we're doing great:D:D
