Well done for getting to day 2 and well done for finding this forum. I smoked for over 20 years and have had many unsuccessful attempts at quitting BUT now I have a whole new frame of mind thanks to this forum and I have found quitting fairly easy this time. It is also the longest I have quit for in the last ten years. So - using this forum certainly has worked for me and many others who come in here.
Keep posting!
Oh and don't mind Mr Bible-pedantic-Black! Any grammatical errors will be picked up and pointed out to you
Welcome to the forum -a good place to realise that you are normal and many people are not!!!!
Great place to be, to rant and rave when need be, read advice-always help on here if needed and yep....it can actually be rather entertaining with some great 'characters' on the forum which make it just that little bit more interesting xxxx
Hi, Nogard and welcome to the forum. This is a great place for support and info on your quit. Keep reading and posting. We've all been where you are and we're all still going.
Tackling the addiction and the habit separately is a good move, especially after having smoked for 20 years, sometimes people find the habit harder to break, for others it's the addiction.
I've always found the addiction is the easier part to get over, you just have to give in to the symptoms and make it through just a few days.
The habit is often the hardest part, even weeks or months later you can convince yourself that there's nothing in the world you want more than a cigarette even though you have no chemical dependancy on it anymore.
Good luck with the inhalator, when you're done with that you'll just need to be strong in your mind. Know that you are doing the best thing anyone could ever do for themselves. Don't spend your life pouring money into the tobacco company's pockets, damaging your health and wasting hours each day out of your life.
We're all in the same situation, be strong to give up!
Good man .. (woman?) - a frustrated dragon who was beaten to it.
Fair enough, and apols for being off on your first post, that was rather remiss of me.
So, what's your story? - How long have you smoked, how many a day, how are you quitting (CT, NRT, Allen Brainwash), etc etc.
Cheers,
Jim
I have smoked for 21 years, probably 15 years smoking cigarettes and the last 6 smoking roll ups (how very lady like). Not sure how many roll ups a day but husband and I got through around 25g a day and more at the weekends.
I am using inhalator and so far its working well. I can honestly say that each day is better than the last one.
Well done to you both you are doing really well I think you are about day 8/9 so the first week is over and you shuld find it will get easier for you now
