Morning
Hiya Naomi - you'll have spotted by now that everyone here is just here to help each other ! 0
It's a great place to moan, swap stories and help other people to be strong, so that we can all stop smoking, together !!
I'm not sure how many days I've done - but I've never felt as strong, committed or as convinced that I'll never smoke again, as I do now. And most of that comes from this forum. Really.
It's crazy but it works.
Good luck with your quit. This is the place to be. And nearly your first week over................................brilliant !!
Damn, i cracked! will start again tomorrow so angry at myself! oh well start from scratch sat morning. how long does it take to feel normal a bit? please tell me the first week is the worst!
Never mind Naomi at least you know that you still want to quit. Yep the first week is the worst.
Good luck for saturday.
Naomi,
Never mind, it can be hard as hell to quit and sometimes we find life deals us a curve ball right at that critical point causing us to reach for the fags again. Pick yourself up dust yourself down and we'll all be here to help cheer you along the way. From personal experience I have found cold turkey to be extremely tough first few days not much easier until end of first week. And now after 3 week mark quantumly easier.
Naomi,
don't beat yourself up about a blip, most of us have a few setbacks (or learning experiences as I prefer to call them!) along the way. You know you want to stop - that really is the important part.
One thing I found useful for getting through the first week (and it does get easier after that) was to write down a list of reasons why I wanted to stop, plus a list of things I was going to do when I had cravings. Carry it with you. When you get really tempted get the list out and read things like 'I want to be around to see my children get married' - it helps to focus your mind on the bigger picture when your brain is screaming 'nicotine NOW' at you.
Morning Naomi x x x x
If at first you don't succeed, try and try again.
Brush yourself down and start again! you can't take away the hard work you have put in so far x x x x
Good Luck Naomi
Onwards and upwards x x

Hiyah Naomi,
Keep trying, you will succeed cos youve taken the decision to quit and youve loads and loads of the best type of support you can get. Nobody on here is judgemental and weve all been where you are today.
As for feeling 'normal' after stopping smoking... Normal? By that do you mean stinking of fags, wheezing, freezing to death in the cold having a fag, having no money cos its all gone on cigs, feeeling like a failure etc etc. Lets hope you never feel 'normal' again!!
Good luck
Thanks for the posts people well i have 7 left which will see me through till lunchtime, then that's it. bring it on! haha!
Well, just had my last fag and NEVER want to smoke again! actually looking forward to it!

Were with you all the way xx
Go for it Naomi. Really try to think positive and let go of the fags, emotionally, and physically. You're not losing anything, and your gaining everything. Believe it WILL be easy, and do not worry that it it will be hard.
You can do it!
